Having a large V-mount battery on the back of the rig has been found to be much better for weight distribution with the added advantage of having power for other accessories such as a light, a recorder, a monitor etc, etc.

A: The Acratech Tripod Head Riser, 2" has a 60mm diameter so it woudl hang over the edge of the the Gitzo GT1545T which has a 37mm diameter. Stacking 2 of the risers is physically possible but as a tripod head is raised higher by either a column or a riser, it increases the risk of shaking especially with long lenses.

A: Yes I have on with a manfrotto 410 head and tripod. The threads are a standard size and will work on just about any tripod.

A: Hello Davis. The GH4 Cage is form-fitted to the GH4 and only designed for that camera. However, the G7 is slightly smaller than the GH4, so it might work if the mounts on the bottom are in the same place. I cannot guarantee it will, though, and recommend finding a way to get your hands on a cage to try your camera on for testing purposes.
