[f/22] bought this under a slew of positive reviews, i love the focal length in my sony e mount cameras apsC sensor. I have nothing but positives to say about this lens. Clarity, nearly perfect even for pixel peepers. Very nice bokeh at f1.4 easy lens to use more often than not. aperture and focus smooth. Its my second of 4 rokinon/samyang lenses and they are all first rate in quality both build and image. If you can live without AF and this is a focal length you like i cant think of a better choice.

[Manual Focus] I've been using this for a little over a week, and in that time it has become my new favorite lens. It mates securely to my Sony NEX-6, and all of the controls are smooth and positive. Definitely would buy this lens again. Keep in mind that it is manual only. I prefer fully manual lenses and this fits right in.

[9, Rounded] If you can deal with manual focus, this lens is a great bargain, especially when compared to Fuji's 23 1.4. I haven't tested the Fuji but this Rokinon lens is sharp enough for my needs. I also like the build, perfect aperture ring resistance, and smooth focusing ring. Best of all, it's compact and light (though not as compact as Fuji's 23 f2).

[58 mm (Front)] I’ve had this lens for a couple of weeks now, and it is my first new lens outside of the efm 50-200 and kit lens (15-45) I got it for it’s wide aperture capabilities, size, sharpness, and medium wide focal length.

The lens is quite sharp and pretty easy to focus with focus peaking turned on, and the whole lens feels much, much higher quality than the kit lens, though it is quite a bit heavier so if you like to go backpacking like me, keep that in mind. The infinity marking seems to be correct on my lens, but it is frustrating that I can’t focus beyond infinity and come back to it to ensure that I’m at the perfect point for very distant objects. It appears to be only marginally sharper than my kit lens at infinity but has better colors and contrast. The lens appears to be sharpest at around f5.6 but is still quite sharp on closer subjects even wide open at f1.4. The amount of detail you get on close/medium distance objects is awesome, and the bokeh look great in my opinion.

I went with the 21mm instead of something wider because I wanted a lens that was narrow enough to still take pictures of people, but was wide enough for landscapes and some astrophotography, a good compromise for backpacking trips. If you’re going for taking pictures of big Milky Way scenes, you’re probably better off with a wider lens, though this one still works fairly well in my opinion.

Overall, this is a great lens as my first prime and I’ve really enjoyed using it the past couple of weeks for everything from pictures of people, landscapes, close ups of objects, and astrophotography. Having f1.4 is a huge step up from the kit lens.

[9, Rounded] Have just had it a few days, but ran a number us tests on my A6000. Manual focus is very smooth and easy to operate. Wide open the lens is good across the frame. Stopped down to 2.0 the center goes from good to excellent. The far corners improve to really outstanding at f4 to f8. I own the Sigma 19mm, which would be a close competitor. In comparing these 2 lens, it was no contest. The edges on the Sigma 19mm are blurry mess at f2.8 compared to the Rokinon and even stopped down never come close to the Rokinon. Of course, the Sigma has auto focus, and at half the price is still a good buy. If you shoot landscape, like I do, this lens should be on your short list.

[9, Rounded] I bought this lens in Singapore for my A6000 because i wanted a smaller setup than the A7RII+FE35 1.4 . I have been very happy with the results. It is sharp,small and and cheap. On the A6000 its equivalent to 35mm lens on a full frame. Manual focus is easy with focus peaking.

[58 mm (Front)] This is a super sharp, slightly wide standard prime lens. It is manual focus only as there is no electronic connection between lens and camera body. This also means no EXIF information regarding lens and aperture. The lens is generally similar to the excellent Rokinon/Samyang 12mm f/2.0 lens, apart from obviously not being a super wide angle as that lens. It also has much less barrel distortion and lower f stop. Generally the 12mm is my go-to lens for casual shots, just because I like to take lots of landscape or indoor shots. However sometime you want to be not quite as wide on the landscape shots or if you want to shoot street scenes, then the 21mm comes in very handy. f numbers etc are printed not etched onto the lens body, so might wear off after a while. I use it with a Sony a6000.
