Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I connect more than one camera on this monitor and view at thesame time?

A: No you cannot. The monitor will only display 1 input at a time.

Q: 2. Will this work with the standard blackmagic 2.5K Camera?

A: It works with blackmagic 4K production camera with the SDI output set to 1920 x 1080 (not 4K). At first all monitor functions worked EXCEPT focus peaking, but the camera has built in focus peaking so that did not matter. It still bothered me so I contacted Lilliput support and they suggested doing a factory re-set. It worked! The monitor has both SDI and HDMI inputs, so if, like me, you also have a DSLR, it's perfect (for the price)

Q: 3. The component input looks way different that the inputs for my tv. What adapter must I buy to have it work on this camera? My hdmi is not working on my fs100 so I must have the component cables match.

A: This monitor has BNC connectors for the component input. We have RCA to BNC adapters you could purchase. Another option to consider would be a monitor that has RCA component inputs, such as the Aputure VS-2.

Q: 4. Are the batteries rechargeable?

A: Yes the battery is rechargeable and the charger comes with the display.

Q: 5. Does this monitor support signal from an Alexa camera trew a tera deck?

A: If the signal is coming through an HDMI, SDI, composite or component signal, more than likely it will work. This little monitor supports a surprisingly wide range of resolutions and refresh rates. I have not come across a signal that this monitor does not except. Good luck

Q: 6. Is it will loop SDI to HDMI?

A: No, please buy LILLIPUT model Q7 or 662/s ,thanks.

Q: 7. The specs list this as 250cd/m^2 brightness - is this enough when paired with the sunshade?

A: We have been using the monitor in the studio and I am considering it for night football games as well. It is plenty bright for studio use but have not used it outside. The construction is quite light weight (and that may stop me from using it outside the studio) but the price point and image quality for my uses have been outstanding.

Q: 8. What charger is recommended for this unit?

A: The package comes with a 12v 1500mah DC adapter and also a battery charger adapter, please contact LILLIPUT USA for service with your monitor's serial number, thanks.

Q: 9. Is this monitor for video shooting only or can it be used for still shooting with Sony a7 series cameras as well?

A: In matching a monitor to a camera, the video connectors must be the same or a converter used, and the camera's video format must be one the monitor can read. The Lilliput can read most any popular camera format and reads the Sony a7 just fine.

Q: 10. Anyone have experience using this monitor with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera? And words of wisdom would be much appreciated!

A: While we have not reviewed these two products together, we feel most confident they play together well. The camera/monitor issue that is most common is whether the camera puts out a signal that the monitor can support. This Lilliput reads every type of signal there is so you will be good.

[16:9] I received a free sample of this travel converter and it works perfectly. Suits all my needs when utilizing this for presentations when I`m traveling or just using it in the office. The quality is great and the picture display is crisp. I use a Mac at work and a MacNook when traveling and this is interchangeable between both, especially when dealing with older VGA setups. I keep it tucked away in my laptop bag and it hasn`t had an issue to date.

[Mono] it works great- the only thing I wish for is a longer cable, but not a deal breaker at all....

[500:1] This little monitor is a real boon for those who work with HDMI and SDI feeds, especially in a TV broadcast or film production environment. It also makes a great viewfinder for a DSLR and a handy little go-anywhere monitor for diverse uses, e.g. checking SDI outputs of satellite IRDs, chasing SDI at the tailboard of an OB truck or checking HDMI outputs for complex home entertainment systems or commercial installations. You pay a little more for the SDI input/output option, but if you work in professional broadcasting you must have it and for the money it's well worth it. The first pleasant surprise was the feel and heft of it. It has a metal chassis which feels just right and inspires confidence. The screen is viewable over a very wide angle, and all the various parameters such as safe-zones, peaking, vectorscope, display of audio levels, zebra, blue-screen etc should be enough to keep any demanding DP or director happy. The variety of DC input options is useful. Tolerating up to 18VDC input via the broadcast-standard 4-pin XLR socket, it can also use Sony F970-style batteries (my choice), Canon 5D batteries via the supplied battery mounting-plates, and (most usefully) the ubiquitous Anton-Bauer V-mount batteries via a special adapter-plate. Professional users will find these power-options especially handy. The supplied accessories are comprehensive and genuinely useful as well. The aluminium tilting-frame made for easy mounting on my DSLR cage-rig and the viewing-hood made use in bright sunlight a lot easier it just velcros into place. The clip-on battery mounting-plates make changing to a different style of battery a snack. The hot-shoe mount made it perfect for a DSLR video run and gun situation, or use on a stabilising-rig. This thing is versatile, and that's important when you're buying gear for daily use in different production-areas. This monitor deserves a place in the kit of any professional or semi-pro videographer or cinematographer.

[800 x 480] We're using this on our Sony D50 video camera's. One of the Sony monitors died, and Sony no longer supports them. This is a great color monitor. It was easy to connect using standard BNC cables. Note: This monitor comes with a standard 1/4 hot shoe mount, so you don't need to buy one. I wish that had been listed under what's in the box on the B&H website. Would have save me $17, but in our line of work you always want to have a spare anyway.

[500:1] I used this at a conference out of state with my new Microsoft Surface Pro 4 for a presentation to my leadership team (with HDMI). The fact that I didn`t have to worry about whether I needed different adapters was really nice. The video clarity and sound quality were excellent, and it is so small, it is easy to take with you in any capacity. It is backed by a two year warranty, which gave me peace of mind because even though I received this product for free to review, I intend to use it again and again.
