The Sensei Pro 52mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Filter Holderis designed to enable the use of a Sensei Pro 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder on a lens with 52mm front filter threads. Grooved edges along the outer rim of this adapter ring allow the compatible filter holder's alignment teeth to fit, which helps to ensure optimal positioning of the holder and the filters placed within it.

Aside from 52mm rear male threads which allow it to connect to a lens, the Sensei Pro 52mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder also features 86mm front female threads. That feature enables this adapter ring to accommodate a thin, 86mm round filter when used along with the Sensei Pro 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder. If a thin, 86mm round filter is used on the Sensei Pro 52mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder, the rectangular filter slot closest to the rear of an attached Sensei Pro 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder becomes unavailable. If a filter holder is not attached, the Sensei Pro 52mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder may be used as a step-up ring, permitting the use of thin or standard 86mm round filters on lenses with 52mm filter threads. This adapter ring features a lightweight, aluminum-alloy construction that has a corrosion-resistant, black anodized finish for durability. A plastic case is included for transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this properly work with the Yongnuo YN 35mm f/2 Lens for Canon EF?

A: Yes, this lens hood is fully compatible with the Yongnuo 35mm f/2.

Q: 2. Would this work on an RF 35mm 1.8?

A: Yes, this lens hood is compatible with the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM lens.

Q: 3. Can I still use a 52 mm snap-on lens cap if this is installed on a NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4D?

A: This hood lacks a thread on the inside to accept a 52mm cap. It would have to be removed when not in use.

Q: 4. what dimension filters does this work with?

A: The Sensei Pro 150mm Aluminum Filter Holder for Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8 Lens is compatible with 150mm wide filters. The filters need to be 2mm thick.

Q: 5. Will this hood vignette with the 28mm Summilux on the full-frame Leica Q2? I'm using a 52mm Elpro macro magnifier.

A: Sensei PRO 49mm Aluminum Lens Hood can cast a shadow depending on how close the lens will be from the subject being photographed, but there is no vignetting.

Q: 6. This is listed as a good accessory for the Nikon 40mm f/2 lens. Has anyone tried it to see if it vignettes on that lens?

A: The Sensei PRO 52mm Aluminum Lens Hood will fit but has yet to be tested on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 Lens. The Vello LHN-HN52 Dedicated Lens Hood (52mm Screw-On), BH #VELHNHN52, is a better option.

Q: 7. Will the standard hood vignette on a 45mm lens (full frame sensor)?

A: There is no vignette on a 45mm lens on a full frame sensor when you use Sensei PRO 52mm Aluminum Lens Hood.

Q: 8. Will this hood screw into my Hoya 52mm UV lens which is on my Canon 40 mm 1.8 lens?

A: Yes it will. However on that lens you might experience some vignetting.

Q: 9. I have this filter to use with my 14-24mm and consistently get lens flare circles on long exposures. I have the view finder covered, so light is not leaking in that way. It occurs in pretty much all light conditions other than cloudy dusk (i.e. bright light from any source no matter if the source is in the front, rear or side of the camera). I have the filter in the closest slot to the lens, as instructed. Does anyone else have this issue and how do you prevent it?

A: You could try using the Flex Lens Shade to prevent flare.

Q: 10. Can a filter be screwed onto the outside of the 52mm lens hood?

A: According to the manufacturer, the front opening of the Sensei PRO 52mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood can accept 72mm filters.

[7.1 mm] Simply fits. I got it for my 55-200mm Canon lens. Nice build.

[0.165 lb] The Sensei holder system is a dream to use for my landscape work. The 86mm filter threads allow me to easily use my filters with each lens while leaving the adapters on each lens. The threads also allow each lens to have secure 86mm caps. I just move the Sensei holder as needed. I use the thin B&W xs-pro kaseman htc polarizer but be aware that even this thin filter takes up 2 slots of space leaving only the third slot for ND filters in the holder when the polarizer is used. I am extremely pleased with the Sensei adapters as they save me time and money compared to others I have used. Believe me when screwing around in cold windy conditions this system is easier and faster to use than hitech and cokin.

[52 mm] These adapter rings are well manufactured and screw on smoothly. Theres not much else to say; it fits my ND filter frame and adapts it to a couple newer lenses I bought that take 62mm filters (I already had 55mm and 72mm adapters). I like the system so it was worth investing in this adapter for the new lenses.

[52 mm] This is a very well made adapter for a very good filter holder system. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. The threads are close so be careful when screwing it to a lens. It helps adjust the circular polarizer on my lens as well!

[7.1 mm] The Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring (52mm) does what I need it to do. I may have to buy another.
