The Sensei Pro 58mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Aluminum Filter Holderis designed to enable the use of a Sensei Pro 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder on a lens with 58mm front filter threads. Grooved edges along the outer rim of this adapter ring allow the compatible filter holder's alignment teeth to fit, which helps to ensure optimal positioning of the holder and the filters placed within it.

Aside from 58mm rear male threads which allow it to connect to a lens, the Sensei Pro 58mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder also features 86mm front female threads. That feature enables this adapter ring to accommodate a thin, 86mm round filter when used along with the Sensei Pro 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder. If a thin, 86mm round filter is used on the Sensei Pro 58mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder, the rectangular filter slot closest to the rear of an attached Sensei Pro 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder becomes unavailable. If a filter holder is not attached, the Sensei Pro 58mm Adapter Ring for 100mm Aluminum Universal Filter Holder may be used as a step-up ring, permitting the use of thin or standard 86mm round filters on lenses with 58mm filter threads. This adapter ring features a lightweight, aluminum-alloy construction that has a corrosion-resistant, black anodized finish for durability. A plastic case is included for transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does this product compare to the Lee SW150?

A: Sensei Pro 150 holder works great on my Nikon af-s 14-24 lens. It would work pretty much the same, both holder are rotating. I do not have the LEE SW150 holder but as reading people's review, it should come with a light shield so it can work properly. I did not feel any difficulty when insert or removing filters from my Sensei Pro holder.

Q: 2. Is this all you need to get the filters attached or do you need any other adapters? I saw on the Lee SW150 you need the holder and an adapter, Thanks..

A: you dont need anything else since this only fits the Nikon 14-24mm. Lee SW150 has adapters to fit different lenses.

Q: 3. Will the fotodiox 145mm polarizer filter fit on the sensel. 150mm holder ..?

A: I am not sure

Q: 4. Will this hood vignette with the 28mm Summilux on the full-frame Leica Q2? I'm using a 52mm Elpro macro magnifier.

A: Sensei PRO 49mm Aluminum Lens Hood can cast a shadow depending on how close the lens will be from the subject being photographed, but there is no vignetting.

Q: 5. I have this filter to use with my 14-24mm and consistently get lens flare circles on long exposures. I have the view finder covered, so light is not leaking in that way. It occurs in pretty much all light conditions other than cloudy dusk (i.e. bright light from any source no matter if the source is in the front, rear or side of the camera). I have the filter in the closest slot to the lens, as instructed. Does anyone else have this issue and how do you prevent it?

A: You could try using the Flex Lens Shade to prevent flare.

Q: 6. Will the standard hood vignette on a 45mm lens (full frame sensor)?

A: There is no vignette on a 45mm lens on a full frame sensor when you use Sensei PRO 52mm Aluminum Lens Hood.

Q: 7. Will this hood screw into my Hoya 52mm UV lens which is on my Canon 40 mm 1.8 lens?

A: Yes it will. However on that lens you might experience some vignetting.

Q: 8. I have a Fujifilm X-T100 and I'm wondering if this would work along with the Hoya 52mm Digital Filter Kit II? I currently have the Fujifilm XC 15-45mm lens.

A: Yes, you can use this hood with 52mm filters. Screw in the filter then screw in the hood.

Q: 9. Will it work with a 16mm lens on APS-C camera or only starting with 18mm?

A: Yes, it will work on any lens with a 58mm filter thread and should cause vignetting with 16mm apsc lens.

Q: 10. Does this work on the sigma 14-24 2.8 GD HSM as well???

A: This is only for the nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8, but alternatives exist that support the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM. For example: https://bhpho.to/3pdtATV

[58 mm] The Sensei holder system is a dream to use for my landscape work. The 86mm filter threads allow me to easily use my filters with each lens while leaving the adapters on each lens. The threads also allow each lens to have secure 86mm caps. I just move the Sensei holder as needed. I use the thin B&W xs-pro kaseman htc polarizer but be aware that even this thin filter takes up 2 slots of space leaving only the third slot for ND filters in the holder when the polarizer is used. I am extremely pleased with the Sensei adapters as they save me time and money compared to others I have used. Believe me when screwing around in cold windy conditions this system is easier and faster to use than hitech and cokin.

[7.1 mm] What can I say. Metal construction. Keeps your Cokin P holder on your camera lens firmly. It works.

[Aluminum] perfect

[58 mm] As long as the outside diameter is correct, the inside diameter is correct, and the threads correctly machined, the adapter will work just fine. The one I bought meets these criteria.
