The Magewell Pro Capture DVI HD Capture Card 1 Channelfrom Magewell Pro Capture DVI HD Capture Card 1 Channelis a low-profile PCIe 2.0 x1 card that allows for capturing a single channel of DVI + audio, VGA + audio, Component + audio, or HDMI + embedded audio via the DVI input, 1/8" analog audio input, and supplied breakout cables. The card supports various color sampling modes, color depths, color formats, up to 8 audio channels at 48 kHz (HDMI only), and output resolutions up to 2048 x 2048 with frame rates up to 120 fps. The card is also capable of numerous video processing features, including cropping, scaling, de-interleaving, aspect ratio conversion, color format conversion, video frame rate conversion, and video OSD composition.

Pro Capture DVI supports multiple cards per system and unlimited output streams for any one input channel with independently adjustable parameters per stream. Additional features include ultra-low latency, timestamp and A/V synchronization, and LED status indicators. The card supports both Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, with multiple APIs for Windows and Linux, and with Windows SDKs for easier integration.

A: The Magewell USB Capture HDMI Plus receives a 4k signal but does not produce one as an output.

A: We are not aware of any overheating issues. This can even operate between 32 to 122°F. There are no vents, but the heat sync within the unit helps.

Q: 9. can i use this with HDMI switcher of 30$then i can do live streaming on youtube in 1080p?

A: An HDMI switcher in the $30 range is a basic A/V Switcher. When you go from input to input there will be a delay of a few seconds and even some noise on the screen. You need a Production Switcher for this kind of application. The Roland V-1HD is a great place to start.

Q: 10. Can I also use to record directly to a laptop as a backup?

A: I use it to record directly to a desktop, so a laptop would have the same function. You need a good processor, video card, and lots of RAM.

[PCIe Gen2 x1] I'm a big fan of these capture cards. I've tried Black Magic's cheaper version of these cards and they were riddled with bugs. Their thunderbolt mini recorders were just as bad and unreliable. These cards run for sever hours a day, 5 days a week in our studio and have held up strong for the past two years. In regards to the loud fan issue using Mac products, I'm happy to say Magewell remedied this issue with the release of their 12/2019 drivers from their site. The card doesn't run at 100% fan speed anymore and is much quieter than ever. The old saying applies to this product you get what you pay for. These cards are worth the price. 5

[PCIe Gen2 x1] Plugged it in and it works for OBS Studio streaming, no drivers needed. More importantly, it is working to give a quality 1080p image from a Nikon DSLR through a 50 foot HDMI cable. (A different HDMI capture device would not give a signal for this same combination.) 50 feet is pushing the limits for HDMI, so I'm happy not to need an HDMI extender. 5

[PCIe Gen2 x1] This is a popular card for having a good line TBC for interlaced video. This is what you want for capturing old home movies, whereas more expensive cards from BlackMagic that offer analog video/s-video have issues. So it is actually a really good deal for what it offers. I might have to order a second card as a back-up. 5
