Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to stream (WebEx cam) and record at the same time?

A: We do, there is a slight lag in the live stream though

Q: 2. Is the included custom cable a non-standard cable, other than its length ?

A: The included custom cable is a standard cable.

Q: 3. Can this be used as an interface between my video camera with HDMI out, to my MacBook Pro to livestream on Facebook and YouTube live?

A: Yes it will work for that.

Q: 4. Will this capture the date/timestamp from a camcorder?

A: I capture via Wirecast so my recordings have the date and time stamp of the recording session. I use this device mainly to grab slides from presenter's PC transparently, after a VGA to HDMI converter.

Q: 5. Does anyone know if "gotomeeting" will recognize this input as a webcam in their software?

A: Yes it does. Magewell lists GoToMeeting as compatible with their USB Capture Plus products.

Q: 6. Can I use this to capture video and replay a loop or single frozen frame?

A: Yes

Q: 7. What is the bitrate of the output in comparison to the USB 3.0 of 625MB/sec? How many of these can theoretically be used on a single computer (assuming the CPU is powerful enough to keep up)?

A: When using USB 3.0 this Magewell capture device has a throughput of 300-350MB/s. It can also record at resolutions up to 1080p60. You'd be able to get a very high quality recording. It is possible you could use more than one at a time if you have a powerful enough computer with separate USB buses and the proper software. However a PCI card with multiple HDMI inputs will be a far safer solution than using more than one of these units.

Q: 8. what extra cable(s) will i have to order with this?

A: The type of cable you will need depends on your use-case. This capture card has an HDMI-in, so one end of the cable will need to be HDMI.

Q: 9. Can I use this to select an HDMI camera as a USB source for Zoom Video Conferencing?

A: We use it for our church streaming with excellent results.

Q: 10. Is this the Gen 2 model? Thanks! God bless!

A: Yes, Magewell XI100DUSB HDMI USB 3.0 Capture Dongle B&H # MA100USBHDMI MFR # 32060 is the gen 2. USB Capture HDMI Gen 2. One channel HD capture dongle. Part number: 32060 (This is the updated P/N. The original P/N is 32011.)

[0.82 lb] The card was simple to install and it worked right off the bat. I use Vmix to stream for our church and the card works perfectly.

[8.6 x 8 x 3.6"] Pretty satisfied thus far, would definitely recommend as opposed to the decklink duos.

Status lights on the rear are a nice touch as well, helps to immediately determine whether or not the system is receiving a signal without having to check anything else.

[PCIe Gen2 x4] I'm a big fan of these capture cards. I've tried Black Magic's cheaper version of these cards and they were riddled with bugs. Their thunderbolt mini recorders were just as bad and unreliable. These cards run for sever hours a day, 5 days a week in our studio and have held up strong for the past two years. In regards to the loud fan issue using Mac products, I'm happy to say Magewell remedied this issue with the release of their 12/2019 drivers from their site. The card doesn't run at 100% fan speed anymore and is much quieter than ever. The old saying applies to this product you get what you pay for. These cards are worth the price.

[0.82 lb] I recently bought a 2 channel Magewell Capture card to use with WireCast streaming program that I am using. It worked so well that I sent it back and bought the 4 channel card. It also worked very, very good. It lets me adjust the size of the individual inputs to fit the screen. So I would recommend it to anyone needing to get video into their computer.

[0.82 lb] Excellent product, I bought it in February 2017, and so far it works without problems. My company makes transmissions in social media, and I already have several hundred hours worked with this card, without any problem.

[PCIe Gen2 x4] We use this card in 40+ windows 10 pro boxes. They are very stable. For backups, they run 12 hours X 5 days per week. The software [Panopto and OBS Studio] seems to run Great. The only complaint is somewhere in the mix, they sometimes lose Audio for no apparent reason. Rebooting usually fixes it.

[0.82 lb] Amazing upgrade from USB capture cards to this. The video is clearer, the latency went down to about 100 milliseconds, and its perfectly stable. No complaints whatsoever!

[0.82 lb] I have one installed in a Sonnet Echo hooked to an M1 Mini. Works great and handles various video input formats better than a Decklink card. Looking to also add a SDI version and dump the Decklink all together. If running Mac OS older than Ventura do not use the latest drivers or you will have issues.
