A: According to the manufacturer, the USB port on this charge is one way and is intended to power mobile phones or small cameras. The only way to charge a camera battery would be to use the AC plug on the back or the included car charger.

A: This is the Watson Compact AC/DC Charger for NP-BG1 or NP-FG1 Battery. As such, there is no LD panel. Perhaps you are thinking of this? Watson Duo LCD Charger with Two LP-E6 / LP-E6N Battery Plates B&H # WADCNLPE6 This indeed has an LCD that displays important battery information.

Q: 5. If I buy this unit, could SONY invalidate their warranty on the battery because it is not OGM?

A: I don't believe so because I have used Watson chargers with my cameras and the manufacturer never invalidated my warranty.

Q: 6. Am traveling to NZ/Australia/Hong Kong; do I need a converter for this to work properly or will a (mere) adapter suffice?

A: The charger is spec'd for 100 to 240 volts, 50/60 Hz. NZ, Australia, and Hong Kong all run with 240 volts, so it will work with a simple adapter. No converter is needed.

Q: 7. Does this have any indicator of a full charge? Like, will the green light go off once the battery (126S) is full? I put my 126S in for a charge after using one bar to make sure that I would have enough power for the next day, but the battery was in the charger for over an hour and the green light remained on. Will it turn off once charging is done or do you have to put it into the camera to find out?

A: It's red when it's a low battery and turns green when it's charged. You got that backwards. It does take some time to charge.

[7.4 VDC] I purchased this charger to go along with my Sony A7 camera, which regretfully does not include a separate charger (only in-camera charging via USB). The Sony-branded charger is both much more expensive than this Watson model and less featured. This Watson charger supports and includes a 12V car adapter as well as a USB port for simultaneously charging a USB device. So, for example, I can charge two NP-FW50 batteries simultaneously, one in the charger and one in the camera via USB. Or, I can charge one NP-FW50 battery and my iPhone simultaneously, only using one AC outlet, which is especially convenient when traveling. My first unit was partially defective in that it could not simultaneously charge my iPhone 4S and an NP-FW50 batterythat combination repeatedly triggered some sort of overload reset. But Watson's customer service responded that it should be able to do that and got me a free replacement quickly, which no longer has that problem. Another aspect of versatility is that the battery interface plate can be replaced, allowing potential use with other battery types, although I haven't exercised that feature. 5
