Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This works for the c300 mk3? Thanks

A: This is not compatible with the Canon C300 Mark III.

Q: 2. Can this be used without using the flash recorder?

A: The Shure VP83F can be used without using the recorder functionality.

Q: 3. What other cameras is this compatible with?

A: The WFT-E8A is only compatible with the 1DX II at this time.

Q: 4. Is there an auto gain option?

A: This microphone offers manual gain controls from its MENU only.

Q: 5. Can I use this to record podcasts, without video?

A: Yes, you can use it on or off a camera and you can select and mp4 format that is appropriate for podcasts.

Q: 6. Will this work with 24mm mics like the Beyerdynamic M201?

A: Yes, this microphone clip will work with any 24mm microphones. Mostly used with the Shure SM81, SM94, VP64, KSM137, KSM141, and 849, these all have the same dimensions as the Beyerdynamic M201.

Q: 7. What is the RAW file transfer speed?

A: When connected to an existing 802.11ac network, it averaged ~10MB/s; when configured in access point mode in the field where there is no existing Wi-Fi network, it averaged 7-8MB/s when manually configured to run on one of the channels on the 5GHz band (forcing 802.11ac with 80MHz channel width) and drops down to 2-3MB/s if left configured automatically (so it chooses the lowest common denominator, 802.11b/g/n with a 20MHz channel width). When in the field, I have Wi-Fi hotspot enabled on my Android phone and an FTP server app running on it, then WFT-E8A connects to it and automatically sends images to the phone as soon as they have been written to the memory cards. I choose to transfer JPEG only and leave RAW in camera. If I find a JPEG needs adjustments I can always bring up the RAW on the camera's LCD and press the Set button to manually send it to the phone.

Q: 8. Why is this A53 more expensive than the A55 which is a larger version?

A: The A53 costs more to produce than the A55, despite its physical size.

Q: 9. Can I use it on the new 1dx mark 3

A: The 1DX3 uses the WFT-E9A, click on the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/38IOK2K

Q: 10. Can this be used to shoot tethered? as in, I shoot normally with the camera but the files import into lightroom as their taken? I already have a camranger, I don't need a wireless remote.

A: You can import images to PC into FTP folder as you shoot but not into Lightroom etc. You can use EOS utility wireless and transfer images and open in Photoshop or lightroom. I also have camranger and like it better.

[Handheld] One of our mics disappeared the day before an important event. B&H had the unit in stock, and I was able to pick it up on my way home! These mics are sturdy, easy to use and sync with the multiple receivers in our facility, and we can get good levels before feedback.

[1% ] First unit arrived DOA but B&H send me a new one super fast (thanks B&H). Great sound quality and great RF performance in a noisy spectrum. I love the sync feature and encryption. The only cons: the battery compartment is very delicate and you have to be very careful not to brake the small door.

[26 MHz] I recently converted my Shure SM58 wireless mic into a Beta 87A by purchasing this new cartridge. It makes the mic a bit lighter and a bit shorter, but the purpose of switching it out was to reduce feedback, and so far that it has done!!!Glad to have made this purchase.Thanks!!... This was the lowest price I could find on the internet, as well.

[Off/On Switch] The Ulxd series from Shure is incredibly fast to setup and sync. After using the uhf-r, these are just way better. You also get 3 transmit power levels in this handle which helps out when your antennas are far away from stage. They are metal housed and very strong. The display is very easy to read, ALTHOUGH, I do like the display on the SLXD better, especially on the transmitter. SLXD has better contrast and easier to read. I have also used the Dante on the Ulxd series. Works great. I have 6 in a rack and one cat6 cable puts them all on the network. No xlr needed if you have a Dante enabled mixer. The available frequencies after a scan in WWB6 are usually around 40-50 in Los Angeles in the g50 band, which is plenty for me. The only thing I would like to see Shure improve on is the battery tray contacts. My frantic customers have broken them several times jamming batteries in sideways. Maybe curl the sides of the contacts more so when they do try and sideways insert it might take the battery without snapping off. Other than that, these handles have been rock solid in the many live performances I have used them on.

[23.5 dB ] We have this mic in addition to a couple of Shure GLXDs with Beta 58 mics. We like those mics, but this one really blows them out of the water!

[Supercardioid] We had an old ULXP from 2007. it still works and everything work fine, but the way this digital captures the audio is so much better.
on the old one i had to give it lots of eq. this new one i only have to eq a little bit. i had to apply lots of gain and high gate on the old one but with this one my gain is not as much and my gate has been lowered significantly. the mic does great at adjusting its own gain. i have not had issue with feedback yet. i love that it uses AA batteries.
so even if you dont buy the rechargable battery pack, you wont spend a fortune on batteries. the old ULXP uses 9v batteries and those are pricey. THe mic feels great in your hand, the metal housing really gives it a different feel. I use the mic on 10mw setting and i havent had issues with transmission. RX is 70 feet away and no issues. i Believe its worth the extra 250 to go from QLXD to ULXD models. if your debating if Q or U, spend the extra 250 and get the U, you wont regret it.
