The Lenskirt XL Flexible Lens Hood for Camerasfeatures suction cups that attach to glass to help block out internal environmental reflections while shooting. This allows you to shoot photographs and video through glass without worrying about lights, flashes, or you showing up in the final image. It opens up with a drawstring in order to fit securely around your lens. It is compatible with lenses up to 8" in diameter, and the 12 x 13" opening will work with lenses as wide as 15mm. The LENSKIRT XL allows for more room to position your camera at an angle or tilt without seeing the edge of the Lenskirt. This is useful when shooting time lapse out of a tall building capturing the view below.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work for the Panasonic GH4 with the 24-120mm full frame Nikon lens ? Thank you.

A: I am running a GH4 With V-Log-L with this speedboaster. A friend also is running this setup. I have a 24mm Rokinon Cinema Lens. Ans 50mm, 135mm and a 75-300 Nikon lens and they all work great.

Q: 2. Is the Lenskirt suitable for using with a GoPro camera attached to the window via the GoPro suction cup? I presume itd be a simple matter of pulling the drawstring closed behind the camera to keep light from entering from the rear. I like to do time-lapse photography at airports.

A: I have not tried with a GoPro and suction mount only a 5Dm3. From how you are describe you would mount the GoPro I think you will have success in your time lapse

Q: 3. I notice that only 1 Olympus model is listed. Does that mean this will not work with OM-D models?

A: There's a full list of which cameras this works on at the Metabones website, I would check there before purchase.

Q: 4. Planning to connect Zeiss Milvus 35mm F/1.4 ZF.2 lens with Lumix GH5. Concerned about two aperture rings; any issues?

A: The Metabones Speed Booster XL 0.64x Adapter for Nikon G Lens to Select Micro Four Thirds-Mount Cameras will work with the Zeiss Milvus 35mm lens. You can choose to use either the lens aperture ring or the adapter aperture ring. The ring on the lens provides more control than the one on the adapter.

Q: 5. can i use this to black magic pocket?

A: Sorry, We've only used it with our Panasonic GH4's

Q: 6. Will the Nikon to MFT models work with strong telephoto zoom lenses such as the Tamron 150-600mm lenses on a Panasonic GH5 camera? If so what would the effective focal length be when using a 150-600mm zoom lens on a GH5.

A: The physics of the focal reducer is to concentrate the light such that the light that would normally expand to a larger image circle (that would cover a 35 mm sensor or a slightly smaller APS-C sensor) instead gets concentrated to a smaller image circle. Thus, irrespective of the type of lens (as long as it attaches to it), it will reduce the effective focal length by .63X (or 0.71x, depending on the Speed booster strength you get) relative to an empty-tube adapter. Because of the light concentration, the effective F-stop will increase by one stop for a 0.71x reducer (2^-1/2) or by 4/3 stop for a 0.63X reducer (2^-4/3/2).Finally, because the M43 sensor is 1/2 the area of the 35 mm sensor (the standard from which the advertised focal lengths are calculated) a 2x crop factor is applied because only the light in the center of the lens is detected by the smaller m43 sensor. This is because the 35 mm lens projects an image circle to 2x the area of the m43 sensor. Thus a focal reducer puts more total acquired light onto the m43 sensor. Therefore, a 0.63x focal reducer gives an effective crop factor of 0.63x x 2x = 1.26X from the 35 mm advertised number. This will make your Tamron 150-600mm lens (based on 35 mm focal lengths) a 189-756mm lens on your GH5 FOR TAKING PHOTOS. Panasonic cameras often reduce the amount of sensor used for 4K or 1080p recording compared to taking photos; this will increase the crop factor and therefore increase the effective focal length. However, I think the GH5 uses nearly the full frame for 4K or 1080P video recording, so that the crop factor on your camera for video recording may not be greatly increased relative to that seen for taking photos. To more directly address the first half of your question, it SHOULD work with the Tamron lens, irrespective of the strength of your lens (I presume you mean the telephoto capacity by strength ). Because all you are doing is concentrating light, there may not be an improvement in image quality on relative basis (I have not noticed an improvement in detail in photos, only that the images are constrained to a smaller number of total pixels). It will probably only help if you need to make the image brighter, or are taking an image in a darker environment.

Q: 7. What is the difference between the Nikon to MFT and the Canon EF to MFT speed booster xl?

A: The first one mounts nikon lenses, the second one canon lenses...

Q: 8. what lens diameter does it fit on?

A: According to Cambo this unit has a 100mm on the front and includes 4 soft rubber rings, which may reduce this front opening to either 85, 75, 65 or 55mm.

Q: 9. Just curious if my vintage Nikon NIKKOR ais lenses would work with this speed booster.

A: Yes this would work with your vintage Nikon Nikkor AIS lenses.

Q: 10. Which size for 16mm on full frame?

A: Yes, the Lenskirt ""LENSKIRT Flexible Lens Hood will technically fit on your 16mm lens, because the draw string will allow it to fit. But, because of the extreme wide angle of that lens on a "full frame" camera, one will see the hood on the edge of photos. The Lenskirt LENSKIRT XL is a better hood for wide angle lenses like the 16mm. https://bhpho.to/3ahTUTC

[Proprietary] Yes it is higher priced than a regular lens adapter. That's because it contains a high quality lens with the complexity of a finely made normal lens.

I deliberated for the longest time since I already have a regular adapter. I bought this for my old Nikon lenses and my Lumix G9 and I love the results with a Nikon 50 F/1.8 pancake lens. It is now one of my favorite lenses when I'm in a manual mood - the bokeh is smooth and uniform for bright points of light and images are super sharp.

The 50 mm F/1.8 becomes a 32 mm F/1.0 lens with the Metabones 0.64X adapter. I confirmed the effective F-number improvement by comparing photos with my regular Nikon lens adapter made by Voightlander which has no lenses in it. Though not a precise measurement the shutter speed increases by x2 in aperture priorty with the 0.64X adapter. Although Metabones says you get an equivalent 1.3 reduction in F-number for in brightness, that amount diminishes with lower F-numbers. You can't put this on an F/1.4 lens and expect to get F/0.1.

The build quality is excellent, the fit is tighter and more snug than my other adapter - it's solid! And forget those regular adapters costing $50, they are rubbish and don't last.

And just look at that pancake lens on the G9 - it's awesome! And with the G9's 5-axis image stabilization I can take 1 second handheld shots that are tack sharp.

I should mention that reviews by Ken Rockwell for the 50 F/1.8 and David Thorpe for the G9 and the Metabones Adapter contributed to my decision. And be sure to check camera compatibility before you by the 0.64X adapter.

[0.34 lb] I bought this as a gift for a friend. It was the perfect gift. He absolutely loves it! He tried it at the Bronx Zoo, and spent all day taking pictures of animals through the glass enclosures without any glass reflection. It fits the camera nicely with any of his lenses and works exactly as you would expect it to. Perfect for taking photos through windows or glass enclosures. I feel so lucky to have found the perfect gift for a guy that is hard to buy for.

[0.34 lb] I use this with my GH4 and Rokinon Cine Lenses. The Speed Booster allows my 24mm lens to be truly a 24mm. I was worried it would be closer to a 50 or 35. The booster fixed the crop factor. The extra stop is great as well for low light images. I am very pleased with the results!

[Proprietary] If you have expensive Nikon lenses, don't skimp out and buy those cheap dumb adapters. Buy this one to get the most out of your lenses. I bought 2 other Nikon to MFT adapters and I never use them over this.

[0.34 lb] I love having the opportunity to use seek out an find nearly half a century old nikkor glass. I've used other adapters and focal reducers for my gh4, I finally broke down and got the Metabones. It was worth it,

[Proprietary] On my Panasonic GX9 it works great but NOT ON OLYMPUS- the rear element protrudes too far into the camera body. Use the metabones site for comparability. Otherwise it’s great on my Panasonic GX9.

[0.34 lb] the metabones are well known around the world. Ill share my thoughts.
first off this is for attaching the full frame lenses, so if you try to use it with the dx lenses you will get the vignetting the ill informed bloggers warn about.
as far as use its simple, attach to camera and leave it there, I would suggest a cage with a adaptor support as mounting lenses can get a little tight and there is some play between the adaptor and the camera body. a cage with a adaptor support will make this rock solid.

You will notice that finally the f- number on the adaptor is accurate when starting your lenses lowest f number at 1. I found that when you get about halfway between 6 to 7 on the adaptor there is no change in exposure, meaning the adaptor moves further than the lens aperture finger does. no harm just sharing it with you.

thats it, image quality is great. functionality is even better. learn your math for your conversion of your lens mm. its easy, mm* adaptor*sensor crop. so, 50mm*.64*2= 64. finally get a light meter so you can find out what your transmission is and that you can have accurate exposures.

enjoy this piece of kit. its the most useful thing ever.
