Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the weight limit of this adapter? I want to attach a 2 pound lens to a BMPC.

A: Hi and thanks for your question. two pound lens is fine for this adapter. The weak link for this would be the lens mount itself, so we would highly recommend a lens support such as the microLensSupport.

Q: 2. Will this change the f-stop or the focal length of the lens?

A: The Redrock Micro Nikon to Canon EF (EOS) Lens Mount Adapter will not change the focal length or the aperture of the lens, no.

Q: 3. Does this work with Canon C300 Mark II? If yes, is there a special power cable in order for it to work?

A: Hi Frankthanks for asking - yes it does work for C300 MK II. you just need the proper cable to connect to that camera. Make sure you dial in the correct voltage into the variable voltage port (check your camera's specs for details) and don't change it once it's correctly setI hope that answers your question

Q: 4. If I use this with a 5d, will the lens communicate with the body? i.e., will autofocus work, will I see exposure information, will it work in movie mode? Thanks!

A: Unfortunately, through my personal experience, I have found that the adapter only works with Nikon glass that does NOT have the electronic features. There aren't any electrical connections on the mount itself. Hope this helps

Q: 5. Is the LEMO connector a 7-Pin?

A: Hi Spencer - i assume you mean the lemo side of the connector? it is three-pin that connects into the microRemote Basestation's aux port

Q: 6. Does this mean you can put canon ef lenses on a nikon d5500?

A: Hi - this lens mount adapts Nikon F-mount lenses to Canon EF bodies.

Q: 7. I want to use a NIKKOR 50mm f/1.2 on my Canon 6d. Will this adaptor work?

A: Hi John! Yes, our Nikon to Canon EF Lens Mount Adapter works with Nikon F Mount lenses, like the Nikkor 50MM. With this adapter, you'll be able to mount the lens onto your Canon 6D EF mount for manual iris and focus control. Here's the online user guide for reference: http://shop.redrockmicro.com/start/assembly_docs/Accessories/NikonAdapterRing_insert.pdf

Q: 8. Anyone used these with Zeiss zf.2 and Milvus lenses on video cameras? If so, do they work correctly and stay snug while focusing?

A: Haven't used specifically with those lenses, but can attest to the firmness and no play whatsoever in these adapters. Three micro screws physically bolt the adapter to the lens mount so they are solid as a rock. No wiggle at all.

Q: 9. Will Nikon Ai lenses work?

A: Hi there.Yes, Nikkor Ai lenses will work with this adapter. It is possibly the best adapter because instead of having a spring locking system it uses a number of grub screws to FIRMLy attach the adapter to lens, with no play. But note... using these adapters in a high vibration environment, it is well worth checking the mount is secure.I use these for adapting Nikkor lenses to Canon mount RED or Blackmagic cinema cameras used to film Skydiving. The lens mount is solid but DO CHECK IT REGULARLY.Happy shooting

Q: 10. I have had these adapters on my lenses for several years. Now I need to use the lenses on my Nikon camera as f mount but have lost the Allan key that came with the lenses. What is the size of the Allen key? I bought a set but it doesn’t have the right size key. Please help.

A: The size is undetermined, you can easily get a set of allen keys from home depot to match up the size.

[0.45 lb] Really small and very reliable. It's great not having to use s spud that isn't larger than the rig I'm putting it on.

[0.45 lb] Love it. I just got it, but I know it's going to save the day in many ways for a long time. So far I've used it for external audio and a monitor. The best part is that you can flip the female/male insert to your liking. This helps to avoid items bumping into one another.

[0.45 lb] Redrock Micro pays attention to the details, even when it comes to the lowly microSpud. This useful little widget is solid and true, and the nicely-knurled top portion can unscrew and come off. This might be handy if you need to thread-in a little deeper. In my case, I was able to unscrew the knurled part enough to tighten onto my DR-100, which has a shallow 1/4-20 hole. I give this two enthusiastic spuds up!

[0.45 lb] Fits effortlessly into my Ultracage, stays out of the way and does its job. The cables poke out from under the Canon handle so there's a little protection from bumps and pulls there but cable management /will/ be a thing. Great little power distro.

[0.45 lb] Albeit pricey, the micromount works perfectly. I use one on my shoulder mount for a monitor and it is great. The ability to adjust on two axis is a must and the ability to remove the threaded plug makes for quick and easy changes to equipment.

[0.45 lb] does what it needs to do, make sure you get a block that can accept this (if you don't own redrock ones).... some clamp tighter.
