The Shure BLX4 Wireless Receiver H10 542-572 MHzis a single-channel tabletop wireless receiver compatible with the BLX1 bodypack and BLX2 handheld transmitters. Compact and lightweight, it houses internal antennas and is ideal for portable use.

The BLX4 features one-touch QuickScan frequency selection to quickly search 123 available frequencies and locate a clean RF channel in case of interference. It employs microprocessor-controlled diversity technology to reduce dropouts. BLX systems allow up to 12 mic channels to operate simultaneously in each frequency band, at a range up to 300'.

Located on the front panel, an LED display shows the RF frequency group and channel, while two LED status indicators inform you when the system is ready to operate and alert you if your audio is clipping. The receiver offers 1/4" and XLR outputs for connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Q: 10. If URX-P40 receiver is backwards compatible for use with an older UTX-B2 Is it legal or not to use in USA the old Sony UTX-B2 Transmitter because it uses the frequencies 638.125-661.875 MHz ? I've heard that using microphones in this range is noy legal anymore. Can someone clarify this?

Frequencies above 616 MHz are now designated for broadband use and can no longer be used for operating wireless microphones. [12] I bought this microphone to replace one that I got about a year ago. While that one cost about half as much as the Sure, what did I really save with it only lasting a year. Even though this microphone is Sure's lowest cost wireless microphone, the quality is outstanding. The setup was simply putting the batteries in the microphone and plugging the receiver in and it was ready to go. I'm using it for speaking only and the sound is excellent. When you turn the microphone on and off there is no audible sound. I haven't had it to loose connection with the receiver once. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Sure has been a leading microphone manufacture for as long as I can remember. It's nice to be able to buy something of this quality today. 5

[2.55 lb] Great high quality mics, with two independent receivers in a single package it's a great way to get two high quality wireless mics with only one power connector. I tried using a single unit rack mount with four receivers as a space effective solution for wireless mics but unfortunately that didn't work well in my space, so I upgraded to this system. Only two mics instead of four and not a rack mount, but still a good compact solution with MUCH higher quality mics. Receiver is only slightly larger than a single unit receiver. Each unit has independently programmable group and channel, as well as output. But only one power cable needed. It might be nice if there were a combined output connection rather than treating each mic as a separate input to the mixer, but that's a minor issue given the overall high quality of the system. 5
