The Shure BLX4 Wireless Receiver 512-542 MHzis a single-channel tabletop wireless receiver compatible with the BLX1 bodypack and BLX2 handheld transmitters. Compact and lightweight, it houses internal antennas and is ideal for portable use.

The BLX4 features one-touch QuickScan frequency selection to quickly search 123 available frequencies and locate a clean RF channel in case of interference. It employs microprocessor-controlled diversity technology to reduce dropouts. BLX systems allow up to 12 mic channels to operate simultaneously in each frequency band, at a range up to 300'.

Located on the front panel, an LED display shows the RF frequency group and channel, while two LED status indicators inform you when the system is ready to operate and alert you if your audio is clipping. The receiver offers 1/4" and XLR outputs for connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Q: 1. If utilizing this receiver with a Sony FX-3 and the SMAD-P5 and using two transmitters, is the system still true diversity? Also, is auto gain control the only option with the SMAD-P5 and the FX-3?

A: Yes, the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver still uses true diversity reception when receiving audio from two transmitters and connected to the Sony SMAD-P5 Digital MI Shoe Adapter.

Q: 2. Will this work for both channels in a Sony X400 camera?

A: Hi Tom, Yes. Thanks, Erin

Q: 3. Will the balanced output drive a device that requires line level input? I was thinking of connecting it directly to the line level input of the Radial EXO-POD.

A: The Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver is only capable of Mic level output signals and does not offer Line level output.

Q: 4. Does this work for both channels in a Sony X400 camera?

Q: 6. Is there a 3.5mm to TA3 cable to plug this into an 833 TA3 input?

A: A cable such as the Cable Techniques 3.5mm TRS to TA3F Balanced Cable (BH #CACTS2KT318) could be used to facilitate connection between the locking 3.5 mm TRS female balanced output on the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver and the TA3 input connections on the Sound Devices 833 Multitrack Field Recorder.

Q: 7. Is it possible to use manual audio gain also as all 4 channels on a sony a7sIII via MI shoe? (because on older P03D its only automatic and 2 channel)

[ABS] I have now purchased 4 of these fine headset systems for use on our 7 indoor tennis courts located in 2 buildings I needed a system that would give me plenty of choices for frequencies and also a lot of transmission range due to the large area.I also needed a system that I could count on to work first time every time. Once I set these up and got everything synced I have really not had to do anything other than change batteries in the transmitters. They have worked great and at a reasonable price point.
