The Shure BLX88 Dual-Channel Wireless Receiver H10 542-572 MHzis a dual-channel tabletop wireless receiver compatible with two BLX1 bodypack or BLX2 handheld transmitters. Compact and lightweight, it houses internal antennas, and is ideal for portable use.

The BLX88 features one-touch QuickScan frequency selection to quickly search 123 available frequencies and locate a clean RF channel in case of interference. It employs microprocessor-controlled diversity technology to reduce dropouts. BLX systems allow up to 12 mic channels to operate simultaneously in each frequency band, at a range up to 300'.

Located on the front panel, two LED displays show the RF frequency groups and channels, while four LED status indicators inform you when the system is ready to operate and alert you if your audio is clipping. The receiver offers two 1/4" and two XLR outputs for connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the URX-S03D UWP-D work with the older Sony UTX-B03 Bodypack Transmitter?

A: Yes, as long as the receiver and transmitter both operate within the same frequency band.

Q: 2. Can the Sony URX-P41D be paired with a Lectrosonics LMb transmitter with the same frequency range?

A: No, a Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver will not work with a Lectrosonics transmitter.

Q: 3. Would this receiver work with a Sennhesier SK500 transmitter in thr Aw+ band (470-558Mhz)?

A: No it would not work with Sennheiser transmitters. It can be used to capture audio when paired with the SONY UTX-B03HR beltpack transmitter & microphone (sold separately)

Q: 4. Will the URX-S03D fit into the PXW-X320 XDCAM? if so, do you need a mounting adapter? thx

A: Based on Sony's website, this device should fit right into the PXW-X320's slot without any additional adapters.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Sony DWT-B01 Digital Wireless transmitters?

A: No, components from Sony's UWP-D line such as the Sony URX-S03D UWP-D Dual-Channel Slot-In Wireless Receiver are not compatible for use with components from Sony's DWX line such as the Sony DWT-B01 Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter.

Q: 6. I am interested in purchasing this wireless microphone but am unsure what frequency to purchase. I live in Los Angeles, is there a preferred frequency for my region of the USA?

A: Because the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver offers the ability to auto-scan it's 2,772 potential frequencies, it should allow you to find an open channel in virtually all areas in any of the three available bands. Frequency availability across bands could also change depending on your location within the greater Los Angeles area. In general, it appears that the UC14: 470 to 542 MHz band may offer the most access to open channels in Los Angeles out of the three available frequency bands.

Q: 7. Can a Sony UTX-P40 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter (UC14: 470 to 542 MHz) be used with this receiver? Or a Sony UTX-B03 Bodypack Transmitter - same freq. channels?

A: Yes, as long as the transmitter and receiver are the same series and same frequency band.

Q: 8. What alternatives do i have to power this unit when in a sound bag?

A: The Sony URX-S03D UWP-D Dual-Channel Slot-In Wireless Receiver requires 7V DC 200mA from a camcorder or wireless power adapter such as the Sony DWA-F01D Digital Wireless Adapter (B&H # SODWAF01D). For mixer-bag use with battery systems, centralized management for the DWA-F01D can be achieved using the Hirose 4-pin or BP jack. For AC powering, you can use an InfoLITHIUM battery charger as an AC adapter or use a conventional AC adapter with the BP jack.

Q: 9. Battery Type-4 is not described in your manual or anywhere on the web. What type of battery is type4?

A: Page 34 in the manual for the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver (UC14: 470 to 542 MHz) describes Type 4 as a 2500mAH AA battery like BH #WAAAALAX8 for example. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/833188.pdf

Q: 10. Does this work for both channels in a Sony X400 camera?

A: Hi Tom, Yes. Thanks, Erin

[Tabletop] I got these for a Sunday school class so those participating via live streaming could hear class member's responses to questions posed by the class leader. We also hooked the system up to the local PA system so people in the class could hear better too. The scanning feature found good, distortion free frequencies quickly and we had minimal issues with feedback even though the mics were used in front of the speakers. I considered going with the Beta 58 mics, but these are only being used for speaking and worked just fine for a lot less.

[12] This is a Great product. We Had another wireless systems that had come recommend to our church. But all we had was issue after issue. Even sent it back 3 times to the Manufacture. So we decided to purchase this item and we couldn't be happier it works as advertised and clear vocals with no feed back.

[Analog UHF ] Great high quality mics, with two independent receivers in a single package it's a great way to get two high quality wireless mics with only one power connector. I tried using a single unit rack mount with four receivers as a space effective solution for wireless mics but unfortunately that didn't work well in my space, so I upgraded to this system. Only two mics instead of four and not a rack mount, but still a good compact solution with MUCH higher quality mics. Receiver is only slightly larger than a single unit receiver. Each unit has independently programmable group and channel, as well as output. But only one power cable needed. It might be nice if there were a combined output connection rather than treating each mic as a separate input to the mixer, but that's a minor issue given the overall high quality of the system.
