The Manfrotto MT190X3 Aluminum Tripod is an addition to the popular 190 series, adding a Quick Power Lock System, ground level adapter, and an Easy Link attachment. It can hold up to 33 lb of gear, and has a maximum height of 63". The ground-level adapter replaces the center column to allow the tripod's mounting plate to sit just 3.5" above the ground with the legs at their widest angle.

The QPL system allows the three leg sections to be completely extended with one hand for simple set up. An Easy Link adapter attachment allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets. Each leg can be set at four different angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone use a Really Right Stuff L bracket with the MHXPRO-BHQ6 XPRO? I hear there may be a compatibility issue.

A: I bought an L bracket other than Really Right Stuff labeled as Arch-type compatible and this did not work on my MHXPRO+BHQ6 XPRO (too wide) even though this head is advertised as Arch-Type compatible . I emailed Manfrotto direct over 3 weeks ago and asked if there were any other brand of L brackets that were compatible with this head and while I got an immediate response acknowledging my email, I am still waiting for an answer. I'm not even sure if Manfrotto's own L brackets are compatible with this particular head.

Q: 2. Will a Really Right Stuff L bracket fit this head ?

A: The Q6 version of this head is compatible with most Arca Swiss style plates and brackets. So there should be no problem.

Q: 3. can you use Manfrotto 520BALLSH 75mm Short Half-Ball?

A: This tripod does not have a 75mm bowl therefore that item will not work on it.

Q: 4. will a manfrotto MVH502AH fit this tripod?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto MVH502AH will be compatible with the Manfrotto MAMT190X3.

Q: 5. Is this head compatible with a 3221 tripod?

A: Yes it is.

Q: 6. Is BHP an authorized dealer of Manfrotto? I'd like to make sure the manufacturer's warranty will be in tact if I purchase. Thanks.

A: B&H Photo is indeed an authorized Manfrotto dealer.

Q: 7. Has anyone found an L-Bracket that is compatible with this ball head?

A: Try the ProMediaGear L-Bracket for Canon 5D Mark III DSLR. I have the version for the Mark IV with battery grip, and it works great.

Q: 8. Does the center colum tilt?

A: No it does not

Q: 9. Can the Desmond DAL-1 bracket be used with this tripod?

A: No, the Desmond DAL-1 QR L Plate is an Arca Swiss style plate and the head on the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 Aluminum Tripod with XPRO Ball Head uses a Manfrotto proprietary plate, 200PL.

Q: 10. What is the diameter of the mounting plate for the head?

A: It has a diameter of 2.36 inches.

[5.45 lb] This is exactly what I wanted in a tripod and compared to the more expensive brands, I think this one will suit my needs just fine. I like the unique way that I can use this tripod for all types of photography and its quick versatility and adjustments are what I love most.

[3/8"-16 Male] I will keep this short and honest. I have only had this tripod for a few weeks, so i cannot yet address long-term reliability. That said, i have owned various other tripods such as a Leitz Tiltall (decades ago) and various medium to low quality tripods since then. For me, the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4, which included the Manfrotto BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head is technological work of art; a true pleasure to use. Another reviewer helped me to decide on this combination with a comment about how when you lock the ball head down it stays locked down with no play or drift; so far i have found that to be very true and a joy to use when compared to less expensive and more poorly engineered tripods. The panning function as well as the friction control on the ball head both seem -at least at this point in time- flawless and easy to adjust, When compared to some other tripods-both higher and lower quality- this tripod and specifically this ball head seems like a winning combination at a fair price. The fact that it came from B & H Photo gives me additional peace of mind due to their fast, quality customer service

[3/8"-16 Male] I am a novice photographer and wanted a good tripod for my d850. After reading multiple reviews i bought the 190xpro4 with the bhq2 ball head. I love this tripod. It feels sturdy and is easy to operate. I have mounted my camera with 500mm lens and the tripod is very stable with the heavy lens. The 200pl mounting plate is easy to use. Thanks B&H for prompt shipping and good service

[Yes] This is an update of the model I've been working with for the past 13 years, and there are many significant improvements. The rubber hand grip on one of the legs is much more substantial, and the height has increased by 4 inches. The levers are longer which gives you more leverage when flipping them open and shut--however the quality of these levers feels a tad more flimsy. The rubber feed pads are more robust. And best of all, the lock at the top of each leg now opens in the opposite direction, towards the tripod feet. So their much, much easier to click open and spread the legs outward. Lastly, the legs are no longer completely round, which adds strength and allows the legs to glide open with more ease.

[3] First off I was looking for a tripod I could take on long hikes as I do a lot of nature photography and having a sturdy platform was key. Is this the lightest tripod out there, no. I originally wanted carbon fiber legs but due to dud get constraints I opted for the manfrotto over the oben (carbon fiber) tripod system. I did take this on an extended hike through rolling hills and it's weight didn't slow me down one bit. I love the versatility of this system and the ball head is solid. Please give this tripod a thought if your looking for a versatile system that will allow you to shoot from low positions to higher positions.
