The black, redesigned Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 Tripod with XPRO Ball Headfrom Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 Tripod with XPRO Ball Headbuilds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO4's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.2" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.

One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.

The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.

The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.

Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.

The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which part is fragile?

A: This tripod is very well made and no part is fragile, it has a 10 year warranty as well.

Q: 2. Can the Desmond DAL-1 bracket be used with this tripod?

A: No, the Desmond DAL-1 QR L Plate is an Arca Swiss style plate and the head on the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 Aluminum Tripod with XPRO Ball Head uses a Manfrotto proprietary plate, 200PL.

Q: 3. Does this come with a case/bag?

A: No it dose not.

Q: 4. Is it stable when making camera adjustments to multiple exposures? Movement must be Zero to stay aligned.

A: Yes, this is a very stable tripod with a pro-level DSLR. It's really easy to control how much tension each adjustment knob gets.

Q: 5. Can the center column be removed from the tripod in order to store in carry on luggage?

A: Once the center column is raised as far as it will go, there is a small tab at the bottom which keeps it from accidentally coming all the way out. If you push that tab in with your finger, it will allow the center column to come all the way out.

Q: 6. Can the RC2 QR plate be attached to Nikon D5600? Or do I need any convertor?

A: Goes right on the the D5600, no adapter needed.

Q: 7. Does this come with a carry bag?

A: No it does not

Q: 8. Are any of manfrotto's levelling ball centre columns compatible with this model? If so.. which one would you guys recommend?

A: No unfortunately, none of the Manfrotto leveling bases or center columns are compatible with this model tripod.

Q: 9. how long is the center column?

A: About 10"

Q: 10. Is BHP an authorized dealer of Manfrotto? I'd like to make sure the manufacturer's warranty will be in tact if I purchase. Thanks.

A: B&H Photo is indeed an authorized Manfrotto dealer.

[3/4] I bought this tripod because it was described to have arca-swiss compatible plates. It does NOT have arca-swiss compatible plates. It's still a great piece of equipment, just feels terrible spending this much on something that works with other gear and not getting what you need in the end. 5 starts for the tripod...1 for b&h.

[3/8"-16] First off I was looking for a tripod I could take on long hikes as I do a lot of nature photography and having a sturdy platform was key. Is this the lightest tripod out there, no. I originally wanted carbon fiber legs but due to dud get constraints I opted for the manfrotto over the oben (carbon fiber) tripod system. I did take this on an extended hike through rolling hills and it's weight didn't slow me down one bit. I love the versatility of this system and the ball head is solid. Please give this tripod a thought if your looking for a versatile system that will allow you to shoot from low positions to higher positions.

[Aluminum] Excellent quality, build, and adjustability. The tripod itself is one of the nicest I've seen and is built with only high-quality components. The ball head is easily adjustable, has a strong hold with even a heavy body/lens setup, and feels substantial in general. Total weight is a bit much for travel, but then again you should be considering the Manfrotto BeFree if you're interested in that. For typical jobs, the manfrotto tripod strap accessory would be a nice complement for easy carry.

[53.2" (135 cm)] Manfrottos time and money invested in R&D on this tripod shows in its overall design: well built,  well thought out, convenient details, good materials. Not too much, not too little -- perfect for the middle grounder. All components are easy to adjust. The ball head is revolutionary: if you havent experienced the ease of a ball head design you are in for a pleasant surprise. Money well invested.

[4.6 lb (2.1 kg)] I will keep this short and honest. I have only had this tripod for a few weeks, so i cannot yet address long-term reliability. That said, i have owned various other tripods such as a Leitz Tiltall (decades ago) and various medium to low quality tripods since then. For me, the Manfrotto MT190XPRO4, which included the Manfrotto BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head is technological work of art; a true pleasure to use. Another reviewer helped me to decide on this combination with a comment about how when you lock the ball head down it stays locked down with no play or drift; so far i have found that to be very true and a joy to use when compared to less expensive and more poorly engineered tripods. The panning function as well as the friction control on the ball head both seem -at least at this point in time- flawless and easy to adjust, When compared to some other tripods-both higher and lower quality- this tripod and specifically this ball head seems like a winning combination at a fair price. The fact that it came from B & H Photo gives me additional peace of mind due to their fast, quality customer service
