Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I want a hood I can stick up against windows to block reflections. Would this be workable for that? I'm hoping to avoid the super bulky ones.

A: The Sensei LHR2-T77 3-In-1 Rubber Lens Hood (77mm) could work for your purposes, but I recommend experimenting with it.

Q: 2. Does it screw unto the filter thread or snaps on the lens?

A: This is a screw in hood.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with Pentax 645 SMC A 645 35mm f3.5 without causing vignetting? I believe the full frame 35mm equivalent focal length is about 21mm.

A: It should not vignett, however you can get the original lens hood as well Pentax PH-RBB82 Lens Hood B&H # PEPHRBB

Q: 4. Can this be used with a 24mm lens without vignetting? Extended or collapsed?

A: No for 24mm you would want the wide angel version. Sensei Wide-Angle Rubber Lens Hood (77mm) BH #SELHR2W77 • MFR #LHR2-W77

Q: 5. how quick to get on and off the camera?

A: Taking this hood off is quick and easy, a 1/4 turn and it comes off easily.

Q: 6. If I put a 58-77mm step up ring and an ND filter on before this lens shade, will there be any vignetting? The question is assuming a 50mm lens on a full frame camera.

A: It's possible you may slide by, it's hard to tell other than trying it.

Q: 7. How quick and easy is it to click on and off the camera?

A: Once the threaded ring is attached to the lens it is easy to clip the hood on and off.

Q: 8. Does this hood stay in place (not rotate or fall off) of the Nikkor Z 24-120mm S f/4 lens?

A: The Sensei 77mm Quick Clip Lens Hood, being a two-piece design, would allow you to attach the threaded ring onto a lens with 77mm size filter threads and allow the hood to clip on and off. As it is a two-part clip-on hood, there is a possibility of the hood rotating or moving. If you would prefer a hood that will click onto a Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S Lens and not rotate or move, you can consider the Nikon HB-102 Lens Hood: https://bhpho.to/3jEUNgP.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the Canon zoom lens EF 24-105mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS STM without vignette good?

A: This sunhood is compatible and you'd be able to use it with the Canon EF 24-105mm lens.

Q: 10. Can you still use a lens cap while this lens hood is mounted on the lens?

A: Yes, but do so by capping the front of the hood, not the lens. Use a Nikon 82mm lens cap, B&H part B&H # NILC82. This will work very well because the hood has frontal filter threads, sized for 82mm filters.

[0.045 lb] Very good build for such a small price, though if you are hard on your gear, don't expect it to resist any tough hits. However, if you're like me and treat your glass & gear with loving care, it will last you a lifetime. I have a couple of these on some classic Nikkors and they's been champs.

[49 mm to 77 mm] It's cheap and does what I need it to. It allows me to use my higher end variable nd filter on multiple lenses.

[Aluminum] I opted to a less expensive step up ring because I didn't expect i would be using it often. I was wrong, but, it works fine. I have not had issues with it jamming, or the threads not lining up.
