And speaking of locations, the compact and durable metal design makes it super portable. I can toss it in my gear bag without worrying about it getting banged up. And I love that it has a little blue light to let you know it is receiving power and is on. That is good information to have, especially when on location.

[1.4 lb] Used these devices to successfully convert SDI content from a Blackmagic ATEM switcher to several HDMI displays. Initial use of Blackmagic SDI/HDMI converters was not successful because the Blackmagic device did not convert the 59.94Hz refresh rate to 60Hz. The Gefen Scaler/Converter is able to do this. One note: You MUST change the Blackmagic ATEM to Level A output from its default Level B. This is on the General Configuration tab.

The key is the scanner/scaler and not just a media converter. Just wish the Syner-G tool could be run on a Mac which our studio is predominately composed of.

[1.4 lb] We are using it to convert from a VGA adaptor / DA to a Black Magic Design switcher for webcast. Used the builtin menu to configure - Black Magic switcher would not show output till we used a separate monitor with variable inputs.
