The PGA31 headset condenser microphone is built for comfort and clear vocal reproduction. It features a cardioid polar pattern that helps reject unwanted noise, and a tailored frequency response optimized for speech intelligibility. The flexible gooseneck design with discrete adjustment options let you position the microphone for further source isolation in loud environments.

The PG58 dynamic capsule features a cardioid polar pattern that minimizes background noise and feedback. The built-in spherical wind and pop filter reduces plosives for clear vocals.

The durable bodypack transmitter offers a lightweight, ergonomic design that is comfortable for the presenter to wear. There is also an easily accessible on/off switch and a TA4M 4-pin input jack.

The lightweight handheld transmitter is comfortable to hold and is equipped with an on/off button and a black identification cap. The WA621 Color ID Caps kit containing assorted colored caps is available as an optional accessory.

Both transmitters offer adjustable gain control, along with group and channel selection buttons for quick and simple frequency matching with the receiver.

The BLX88 receiver employs a microprocessor-controlled internal antenna diversity feature to improve the quality and reliability of your wireless audio. Two LED displays show group and channel settings, while four LED lights indicate when the system is ready for use and the strength of the incoming audio signal. The unit offers two 1/4" and two XLR outputs for connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Shure offers a variety of lavalier, instrument, headset, and handheld microphone options to adapt your BLX system as your needs evolve.

  • The discrete MX153 sub-miniature earset mic and CVL lavalier mic both provide exceptional clarity in spoken word applications.
  • Instrumentalists can attach the WB98H/C flexible gooseneck instrument microphone for brass, woodwind, and percussion applications.
  • The WA302 guitar cable lets you connect the bodypack transmitter to a guitar or bass.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a version of this that actually holds two receivers for the two transmitters?

A: This SKB iSeries Waterproof Case is designed to hold one Sony URX-P03D receiver, which is the two-channel receiver, along with two UTX-B40 bodypack transmitters, a UTX-M40 wireless handheld mic or a different handheld mic, and a UTX-P40 plug-on transmitter. If you are using two single-channel Sony UWP systems (two URX-P40 or URX-P03 receivers and two bodypack transmitters, you could modify the foam in the space where the plug-on transmitter fits and use it for the second receiver. We also have the SKB iSeries Waterproof Case for Sony UWP-D16, Sennheiser EW, or Senal Wireless Combo Mic Systems (B&H # SK3I09074BH1) which is for the single-channel Sony receiver, a bodypack transmitter and plug-on transmitter. As another option, you can purchase a case with cubed foam like the SKB 3I-0907-4-C Small Mil-Std Waterproof Case 4" Deep with Cubed Foam (B&H # SK3I09074BC) and then customize the interior to fit your wireless gear. The same case is also available with Think Tank dividers which are padded and removable (they attach with velcro) so you can customize the interior to accommodate your gear.

Q: 2. Are there other frequency range units available?

A: I'm sorry, but that system is only available within one frequency range. For more available ranges, I would recommend considering the more professional EW 100 G4 systems, like these: https://bhpho.to/3a3qpaM

Q: 3. What are the outer dimensions of this case?

A: Approximately: 13 x 10 x 4"

Q: 4. Does this product need a separate charging base for batteries on transmitter and mic? How long do batteries last?

A: The Sennheiser AVX-Combo SET Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Microphone System includes the NT 5-10U USB power supply/charger and a USB cable for recharging the BA 10 Accupack battery in the handheld transmitter, the BA 20 Accupack battery in the receiver, or the BA 30 Accupack battery in the bodypack transmitter. As an option, you can separately purchase the Sennheiser CHG 2 2-Bay Tabletop Charger (B&H # SE506219), which has universal charging slots for either bodypack or handheld transmitters with the batteries inside, and can also charge the BA10 and BA30 batteries without the transmitters.

Q: 5. Can this be used with smartphones?

A: Technically you can, however you will need the appropriate adapter(s) for your phone. Please give us a call at 800-606-6969 and a Pro Audio specialist will be happy to assist.

Q: 6. Is there a separate XLR out for each channel?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver has separate XLR and 1/4" outputs for each channel.

Q: 7. If I want 4 lavs across two cameras, will buying these work or will I get some feedback?

A: The Sennheiser AVX series wireless microphone systems are single-channel so only one transmitter can be used with each receiver. The Sennheiser AVX 2-Person Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System with Case Kit will allow you to mic two people and both receivers can be connected to the same camera. In order to mic four people at the same time using the AVX systems, you will need to have four individual AVX systems (or two of the AVX 2-Person Kits). So you can use two of the AVX 2-Person Kits with your two cameras. Up to eight of the AVX systems can be used simultaneously within a 98-foot range. Interference and feedback would not be a problem.

Q: 8. Is there a way to listen to the audio while simultaneously recording with the XLR adaptor on a DSLR?

A: Generally the answer is no. The AVX, like most wireless systems, outputs a mic level signal. It is not designed for direct audio monitoring. If you want to monitor the signal you have a couple of options: Use the headphone output from your DLSR (if it has one), use a mixer between the AVX wireless receiver and the DSLR ( JuicedLink, Beachtek, and Sound Devices offer a great range of products, these usually have a built in headphone amplifier for audio monitoring), or use a field video monitor that includes audio monitoring from the camera's HDMI port. I would just double check if your DLSR is actually sending audio down the HDMI port.

Q: 9. I often use my EW100 kit to transmit an audio feed from a sound console. Does the AVX platform provide for such an application?

A: Yes, you can. Just like the EW, you would need to use the CL-2 cable to connect an output from the mixer to the transmitter.

Q: 10. Can I use it on Phoenix Octopus device for an additional Microphone?

A: Unfortunately not. The Phoenix Audio MT454-PA Octopus USB Base Unit is no longer available. Also the Phoenix Octopus is for Audio Conferencing and full Duplex Communication. The Sennheiser AVX you are referring to is two separate wireless mic's. With XLR receiver's that plug right into the camera. It was designed primarily for "run and gun" type of work.
