The WB98H/C miniature condenser microphone clamps onto the bell of wind instruments or onto the rim of percussion instruments. It features a cardioid polar pattern that helps reject unwanted noise in loud environments. The integrated gooseneck and ratcheting swivel joint allow the microphone to be easily positioned and secured, and an isolation shockmount reduces the transmission of instrument key noise and other mechanical sounds.

The durable BLX1 bodypack transmitter offers a lightweight, ergonomic design that is comfortable for the performer to wear. Group and channel selection buttons allow for quick and simple frequency matching with the receiver. Other features include an easily accessible on/off switch, adjustable gain control, and a TA4M 4-pin input jack.

The BLX4R receiver employs a microprocessor-controlled antenna diversity system to improve the quality and reliability of your wireless audio. The receiver can be rackmounted with the included hardware, allowing you to position the two removable antennas on the front of the rack for optimal signal reception.

The LCD display shows group and channel settings, and allows you to meter audio level and signal strength. An LED indicator even lets you keep an eye on the transmitter's remaining battery life. The unit offers 1/4" and XLR connectors with adjustable output level for flexible connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Shure offers a variety of headset, instrument, and handheld microphone options to adapt your BLX system as your needs evolve.

  • The discrete WL185 lavalier mic provides exceptional clarity in spoken word applications.
  • The SM35 is a comfortable, durable headset microphone for active performance.
  • The WA302 guitar cable lets you connect the bodypack transmitter to a guitar or bass.
  • The BLX2 handheld transmitter is available with three different mic capsules for presenters who prefer the flexibility of a handheld microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can i use this directly from a mixer with 3.5mm jack output and send it to receiver then to dslr? i dont want to use lav mics but use this system in my mixer as wireless transmitting audio.

A: Yes you can. NOTE: The input on the transmitter is Mic Level so make sure that the output on your mixer is set to line level otherwise your audio may clip or sound distorted.

Q: 2. Can the rechargeable battery be replaced by the user?

A: No it cannot. Now if your reason for wanting to do so is to make sure you always have enough battery for a long gig, you can use the charging port to power the system while in use, either through a power supply or through a power-bank which is commonly used for Cell phones and etc.

Q: 3. Are there any compatible antennas for this to extend the range?

A: No. The Sennheiser EW 500 BOOM G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System includes the bodypack-style EK 500 G4 Pro Wireless Camera-Mount Receiver, which has an integrated/molded antenna, the receiver cannot be used with an external antenna. If you swap the EK 500 receiver and use the Sennheiser EM 300-500 G4 Wireless Receiver (such as B&H # SEEM3005MGAP for AW+: 470 to 558 MHz frequency band), you will be able to use remote mount antennas or half-wave antennas for extended range. However, the EM 300-500 requires AC power and is not camera-mountable, so that could be a drawback if you need to have a portable, battery-powered system.

Q: 4. Does this work with rode reporter mic ? I tried hooking it up and it’s super low. The ride is a dynamic and doesn’t need phantom. But connecting to zoom h5 , signal is low

A: This will work with the Rode or any other dynamic microphone. If playing with the levels on the recorder does not help, you may try to call or chat with a B&H professional who can try to guide you and trouble shoot it for you.

Q: 5. Does this transmit/receive a stereo signal?

A: Hi Yong - the XS Wireless Digital system transmits a single channel of mono audio. The included 3.5mm connector has a "stereo" tip so that you will get the same mono signal on both your left and right inputs on your camera via your 3.5mm stereo input.

Q: 6. How do I choose between the AW+ and GW1 models?

A: If you are using this in USA, and you are only using a few wireless systems on set, either of the frequency ranges which we carry of the Sennheiser EW 500 G4 wireless microphone systems will work reliably for you. If you are using many systems on one location, you will get best results by dividing between the available ranges. If you need something that can work internationally, please contact us so we can help you find the best option.

Q: 7. It could be used to connect my QSC k12.2 speakers to the QSC Touchmix 8 mixer for wireless use.?

A: Yes the Sennheiser XSW-D is directly compatible with the QSC Toycmix 8 and the QSC K12.2.

Q: 8. Could I use it to power a BMPCC4K?

A: Yes you can, you will just need a way to connect the battery to the camera. The IndiPRO Tools V-Mount Battery Plate with 15mm Rod Mount for BMPCC 4K/6K (16") is a great choice for that, BH #INVMBP4K. https://bhpho.to/2WUKuZz

Q: 9. Does this battery prevent ground loops if its dtaps are used to power BOTH a monitor AND the BMPCC 4k?

A: We are not of any grounding issues with this battery.

Q: 10. Can I avoid using the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter and plug the Saramonic receiver directly to my GoPro Media Mod 9/10/11?

A: Yes, you can connect the Saramonic Blink 500 B1 Digital Camera-Mount Wireless System directly to the GoPro Media Mod instead of using the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter.

[-16 to +10 dB] Easy to set up. Very compact and fits in with the other two I have. Match it with the Shure mics and you have a winner

[10 mW] This is a great mic for saxophonists. I purchased it to replace the one that came with my original wireless system I bought in 2006 to tour with Anita Baker. I love it's sound and durability. I move a lot when I perform, and I had to replace it because the plastic housing broke after 8 years of me abusing it all over the country. Even thiough the clip broke, the mic kept on working. We duct taped it and I continued to use it in a few more local shows until my new one was shipped. Every now and then I run into a wireless frequency issue, but I bought the lower end system so I expect that from time to time. These are much better sounding and longer lasting than others I've owned in the past.

[-16 to +10 dB] This a quality product that sounds great. I don't have a Shure wireless system and was hoping the mini XLR(TA4F) connector would fit my Carvin wireless belt pack. It did and I'm delighted...Also, the price was one of the best on the web. The only slight problem I'm working with right now is that the mic won't clip onto the bell of my clarinet. The clip isn't wide enough and doesn't open wide enough. However, I'm delighted to have this mic.

[Manual] This system is amazing. Easy to install. Finds open/best channel to use automatically. Pairs with Mic seamlessly. The Mic is AMAZING. No distortion or lag. Yelling into the mic does not overload speakers. Output is clear and crisp. Purchased for church services to Mic up the pastor. We're a small church and this was perfect solution for us. That said, this system could be an excellent choice for large congregation. Additional Mics can be added seamlessly.

[ABS] As a drummer in nightclubs, I need to walk around the dance floor with a wireless mic on my drum.
This mic has been a perfect solution. It is tough, sounds great, and easy to hook up.
Very happy with my purchase.

[12] I bought this clip on mic to use with my Tenor and Alto sax. I was originally using a beta 87 on a stand, so at first I was worried about considerable quality loss: not so! I even use it with the cheaper shure pgx wireless system and it sounds great! I am gonna have to buy another one soon to keep them ready on both saxes instead of switching....I should have bought this years ago.

[1 RU (1/2 Rack)] We just purchased 8 of these wireless mics, and rack-mounted them. The set-up was easy and the sound quality was easily adjusted using the on-board gain. We are very happy with the purchase.

[1] I'm a sax player and this mic works great. The reproduction of clear sound quality is exactly what I need from a mic. The flexibility and mounting configurations make it a true joy to use. I would recommend it to my friends and buy another if needed.

[12] My church has struggled with inconsistent signal strength from our current wireless microphones. This one just works. It scans for an ideal frequency, you pair it with the transmitter, and then it works. Not a single problem.
