Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can I install this on imac 27in late 2009?

A: sorry it is everymac dot com

Q: 2. will this work on HP Desktop ENVY 700-074 ?

A: The OWC 32GB DDR3 1600 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Upgrade Kit (4 x 8GB) will not work in an HP Desktop. The OWC RAM modules are listed as compatible only "...with the late-2015 27" iMac with Retina 5K display, the late-2014 27" iMac with 5K Retina display, and late-2013 and late-2012 27" iMac models." Also, they are not the correct form factor.

Q: 3. Can the 2 16GB modules be installed on an early 2009 24 inch iMac ?

A: Locate the Apple model number A.... And refer to the OWC website. Apple devices are very picky about memory specification. OWC has all tools on the website to check compatibility.

Q: 4. I have 8 gigs RAM stock (4 *2). Can I add one 8 gig to make 16 or do I need to replace the 4s with 2 8s to make,16?

A: Either go with two more 4's to make 16 or 2 8's (leave the 2 4's you have in) for a total of 24. This ram needs to be installed in pairs.

Q: 5. Can I install this in my MacBook Pro Mid 2010?Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 DuoMemory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

A: This kit is for an iMac with 4 memory slots. I would need to know the computer's serial number to point you to the correct memory modules.

Q: 6. Why is this product/package prized so high or so differently? Say, with other OCW 32GB package? I'm talking about the OWC / Other World Computing 32GB DDR3 1867 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Kit (2 x 16GB, Late 2015 iMac Retina 5K) which is prized at $508, while the other package is just around $200.

A: What is the item code for the other 32GB kit that you are comparing this one to?

Q: 7. Can this be used to upgrade the memory on an 5k imac late 2015?

A: I couldn't get the OWC 16GB DIMMs to work reliably in a 64GB (4x16G) nor in a 32GB (2x16G) configuration in my late 2015 5k 27 iMac 17,1, so I had to return them -- system would panic and reboot in less than a minute while running BMD Disk Speed test. After reverting back to Apple-supplied 2x4GB configuration, everything was stable again. Next I'm trying a 4x8GB config using Crucial (Micron) DIMMs, which are also much less expensive.

Q: 8. dose it work with the Intel DP67BA?

A: The 16GB DDR3 1333 MHz SODIMM Memory Kit by OWC is not compatible with the Intel DP67BA main board as that board uses DDR3 DIMM type chips.

Q: 9. Will this RAM (32GB) work on the 5K iMac Late 2015?

A: Yes, this is for the iMac w/Retina 5K display (27 inch Late 2015)Model ID: iMac 17,1

Q: 10. I can use late 2015 4k imac

A: yes

[Dual Rank] I installed an 8GB to 24GB upgrade in my iMac. The activity monitor immediately recognized and Photoshop adjusted its memory. I spent the rest of the day kicking myself for not doing it earlier.

iMac makes the upgrade process relatively easy, but it took a couple of attempts to get the memory mounting just right. After raising the bar and then lowering it just a little (the one raised after getting the cover off), I was able to get a firm 'snap' sound that these were mounted correctly. After that, it booted up like normal.

I wouldn't think twice about this upgrade if you are still running on 8GB. The performance improvement is across the board. Chrome is carrying more cache, and Lightroom and Photoshop are now very responsive. I bought my machine in 2017 and had to manage my applications carefully to keep from keeping the machine from getting very sluggish. I was thinking about buying a new iMac. Now, I hope to get a few more years out of this one.

[0.125 lb] I installed this in my 27" iMac (late 2015) which only had an existing 8gb of memory. I am constantly running lightroom, photoshop, and bridge. It was running so slow. After installing the new memory my computer is seriously like a brand new machine! I am able to edit jobs within a day that used to take me a week. Couldn't recommend it more!

[204-Pin SO-DIMM] This product was super easy to install and only took about 2 minutes total. Once the computer is rebooted, there is no need to do anything. It just works. Performance has improved greatly, especially using Lightroom. 10/10 would recommend.

[Non-ECC] As good as OEM RAM. Nice addition to get a bit more power to avoid the spinning beach ball in Photoshop and Lightroom. Value for your dollar.

[0.125 lb] My iMac has 16 GB of RAM in two 8 GB modules, with two slots still open. I bought his memory upgrade to take my iMac to 32 GB. Delivery was prompt. Installation took less than 5 minutes. Bam, now 32 GB of RAM.

[32 GB] The perfect way to boost performance. I went from 8gb to 32 in about 5 minutes, and most of that was clearing off a place where I could put the computer. Simple, straightforward at a good price.
