The low-profile MX153 condenser earset microphone is built for clear vocal reproduction, especially when improved gain before feedback over lavalier microphones is desired. The mic's omnidirectional polar pattern offers enhanced plosive protection with no proximity effect. Commshield RF Filtering minimizes RF interference from nearby smartphones, and the tailored frequency response is optimized for speech intelligibility.

The durable BLX1 bodypack transmitter offers a lightweight, ergonomic design that is comfortable for the presenter to wear. Group and channel selection buttons allow for quick and simple frequency matching with the receiver. Other features include an easily accessible on/off switch, adjustable gain control, and a TA4M 4-pin input jack.

The BLX4R receiver employs a microprocessor-controlled antenna diversity system to improve the quality and reliability of your wireless audio. The receiver can be rackmounted with the included hardware, allowing you to position the two removable antennas on the front of the rack for optimal signal reception.

The LCD display shows group and channel settings, and allows you to meter audio level and signal strength. An LED indicator even lets you keep an eye on the transmitter's remaining battery life. The unit offers 1/4" and XLR connectors with adjustable output level for flexible connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Shure offers a variety of headset, instrument, and handheld microphone options to adapt your BLX system as your needs evolve.

  • The discrete WL185 lavalier mic provides exceptional clarity in spoken word applications.
  • The SM35 is a comfortable, durable headset microphone for active performance.
  • Instrumentalists can attach the WB98H/C flexible gooseneck instrument microphone for brass, woodwind, and percussion applications.
  • The WA302 guitar cable lets you connect the bodypack transmitter to a guitar or bass.
  • The BLX2 handheld transmitter is available with three different mic capsules for presenters who prefer the flexibility of a handheld microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The manual says to set AF Out on the receiver to +18 dB. Is this true? Why not 0db?

A: In general, Camera preamps are not the best quality. +18db ensures that you will need the least amount of preamp gain possible, which will maximize the quality you capture with the camera.

Q: 2. If I purchase a Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro separately in the future, can it used with this EW 512 G4 model?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro plug-on transmitter is compatible for use with the EK 500 G4 Pro receiver that is included with the EW 512P G4 wireless lavalier system as long as both components operate on the same frequency band. You will need to purchase an SKP 500 G4 transmitter on the same frequency band as the EW 512P G4 system. The EK 500 G4 receiver can be used with only one transmitter at a time so you will have the option of using it with either the SK 500 G4 bodypack transmitter that is included in the EW 512P G4 system or using the SKP 500 G4 plug-on transmitter.

Q: 3. Can these lavalier be wirelessly connected to a soundboard?

A: Yes. The Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System can be connected to a soundboard (mixer). The system comes with two receiver output cables, one with a 3.5mm connector and one with an XLR connector. You can use the cable with the XLR connector to send the output from the receiver into a mic input on the board.

Q: 4. Can this be used for a Facebook live or is it just for video recordings?

A: This should work with Facebook live when set in Mono Mode.

Q: 5. How to attach the mirror less camera or gimbal? Photos only show a belt clip on back side.

A: The Sennheiser EW 512P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System includes the Sennheiser CA2 Shoemount Adapter for EW Series Camera Mountable Receivers, which allows mounting onto a shoe slot.

Q: 6. It this model's frequency a good fit for recording in NYC?

A: Yes, frequency band A1 can be used in New York City. However, channels 14, 15, and 16 will be blocked for public safety deployment.

Q: 7. Can we use two of the same models with the same frequency range at one time or do we need two different frequency systems? Basically, can we use two of the same exact transmitter/receivers simultaneously?

A: Yes you can, when scanning for a new frequency do one system at the time once you are done just make sure both systems are running in different frequency's.

Q: 8. Would this lavalier mic work in europe? italy?

A: The wireless systems that are sold by B&H are intended for use in North America without a license. The FCC regulations vary in different countries, so a license may be required. The A1: 470 to 516 MHz, A: 516 to 558 MHz, and G: 566 to 608 MHz frequency bands for the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System are all able to be used in Italy, however, a license is required. As additional options for a Sennheiser wireless system that you can use in Italy without a license, you may want to consider the Sennheiser AVX-ME2 SET Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H #SEAVXME2SET4) or the Sennheiser XSW-D LAVALIER SET Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (B&H # SEWXSLSTR). The AVX system operates on the 1.9 GHz frequency band and includes a plug-in receiver which can be connected to a 3.5mm mic input using the included XLR to 3.5mm cable. The XSW-D system operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band and can also be used with an XLR female to 3.5mm cable to connect to a 3.5mm mic input. Both systems include the Sennheiser ME 2 II Lavalier Microphone, which is the same microphone that is included with the EW 112P G4 system.

Q: 9. How do we know which frequency range to get? Is there a list showing which frequency range is best for specific countries?

A: These Sennheiser products are offered as legal devices in the USA only. Please contact Sennheiser directly in the country you'll be using this product in to purchase the correct system. We do not ship Sennheiser wireless products overseas.

Q: 10. Is this safe to use with the Verizon 5G frequency ban? The FCC says 600MHz, but it also says something about some ranges in the 500MHz frequency band as well.

A: The Sennhieser EW 112P G4 UHF wireless systems work within the FCC- allowed range of 470-608MHz. 5G cellular service operated on higher frequencies than this. Sennheiser wireless systems allow for auto scanning, with 1680 frequencies to choose from, making it easy to find a clean frequency, even in the crowded UHF spectrum. .

[20 Hz to 20 kHz] This system is amazing. Easy to install. Finds open/best channel to use automatically. Pairs with Mic seamlessly. The Mic is AMAZING. No distortion or lag. Yelling into the mic does not overload speakers. Output is clear and crisp. Purchased for church services to Mic up the pastor. We're a small church and this was perfect solution for us. That said, this system could be an excellent choice for large congregation. Additional Mics can be added seamlessly.

[10 mW] We ordered the head set to replace a lavelier mic. We had a lot of problems with ringing and feedback. The headset eliminated these problems and is much much easier to control.

[60 dB ] At first I was a little skeptical of this headset, but we needed them for our high school performance and considering the cost comparison, I bought two. Come to find out, these headsets rock! Voices were clear and they saved our play. Well worth it.

[107 dB SPL] We just purchased 8 of these wireless mics, and rack-mounted them. The set-up was easy and the sound quality was easily adjusted using the on-board gain. We are very happy with the purchase.

[Bodypack] Rent a 12-16 channel wireless system to a few middle and high schools every year. Typically, we run the Pyle Pro PMHMS20 headsets, but due to backorder ordered several sets of PMEMS10 this year. These work great for school plays/musicals with proper EQ and compression. The only con is the earsets do not seem to fit children with smaller heads/faces well and took some tape to hold them in a proper location. Overall, this is a great product for schools at a great price. Time will tell if these hold up as well as the PHMS20's.

[20 Hz to 20 kHz] This mic was purchased for use in a regular worship setting. The pastor has a high-end Countryman mic of a similar style, but worship assistants were using lav mics clipped to their robes. Performance was inconsistent with the lav mics, but we didn't want to spend the extra money on additional Countryman mics unless we had to. This mic is performing as well as the Countryman. Sound is crisp and clear (spoken word and some singing), the mic is comfortable to wear, and it was fully compatible with our Shure beltpacks. We haven't had the mic long enough to assess durability, and I'm a little concerned that because everything is permanently connected together (you can replace components--you have to replace the whole unit). But, at the price point, that really isn't that big an issue.

[-41 dBV/Pa] I've been using these headsets for a few years now, and continue to buy more. They're perfect for children' programs/ plays and outdoor events. They only take minimal EQ'ing to get to sound good, not as good as the Countryman E6's that I also have, but close enough. Compared to Countryman, for the price, you can't complain about build quality.
