Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you turn off the auto-gain mode and control gain manually?

A: Yes, auto-gain can be disabled for the Sony UWP-D26 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System.

Q: 2. can both mics operate at the same time or does one have to be shut off for the other to work?

A: Both microphones in the Samson Expedition XP310w 10" 300W Portable PA System with Wireless Handheld and Lavalier Microphone Kit can be used simultaneously. The XP310w has two wireless receiver slots, one of which is empty upon purchase. This kit bundles a second wireless microphone and receiver for installation and use with the original speaker and microphone all at the same time, if desired.

Q: 3. Can you change the capsule of this transmitter to something like an sE electronics v7 capsule or a telefunken capsule

A: The Sennheiser SKM 825-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter is specified for use with Sennheiser Evolution series capsules and is not compatible with third party microphone capsules from brands such as sE Electronics or Telefunken.

Q: 4. Can the receiver have 2 mics connected to it? Like 1 handheld and 1 lapel mic?

A: No. This receiver can only be used to connect to one transmitter at a time.

Q: 5. is there something on the device that would make it introduce hiss into the transmission? I recently bought one. Tested it with 2 identical senheiser boom mics requiring 48v phantom. One sounds great, the other has a major hiss. Tried it on several other mics (57s/58s) and nothing. The "bad" mic works 100% when wired.

A: 1. Make sure to scan for the best frequencies to use before every session. 2. Try lowering the gain

Q: 6. I was advised this could be synced with the zoom recorders like h6. How would that work?

A: This will work woththe Zoom without a problem. Simply plug the 3.5mm to XLR cable into the output of the receiver and the input of the Zoom recorder.

Q: 7. Can both mics (a handheld and lav) be used at the same time?

A: No the Sony UWP-D26 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System is a single channel combo system. You can only use one mic at a time. You would need to buy a dual channel system if you wanted to run 2 mic's with one receiver.

Q: 8. We have an old sennheiser mike, ew-100, SKM 100, with frequency range 518,000 - 550,000 Mhz. It works with the Sennheiser diversity receiver EM100, with same frequency range. Will this mike SKM 825-XSW-A, work with the above receiver?

A: This is the XSW series which operates on the 2.4GHz frequencies and is not compatible with the EW series, which are UHF Based systems. You have 2 options for a handheld for your existing system: 1) Get the SKM 100 Transmitter Item# SESKM100G4SA + Capsule Item# SEMMD835 (or if there is another capsule you prefer. 2) Get the SKP100 Plug on transmitter SESKP100G4A and use any Dynamic microphone of your choice. Sennheiser has some great mics but if you already have other mics in your arsenal, it will work perfectly with this plug on transmitter. NOTE: The frequency range on your existing system, and the items I recommended are a little different, but they are in the same range so you will have plenty freqancies to play with.

Q: 9. Can you connect two UTX-B40 to one URX-P40? A use case would be two people talking, each person with a UTX-B40 and a URX-P40 connected to a camera that is recording kind of like a discussion/interview between two people

A: No, the URX-P40 is a single-channel receiver that can be used with one transmitter only. For two people, you will want the Sony URX-P03D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver - UC14: 470 to 542 MHz (B&H # SOURXP03D14) which is a two-channel receiver that can be used with two transmitters at the same time. We do sell a kit that includes the URX-P03D receiver and two UTX-B40 transmitters with lavalier mics and a case, which is the Sony UWP-D 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System Kit - UC14: 470 to 542 MHz (B&H # SOURXP03D14Q). The URX-P03D can send one signal to the camera with the combined audio from both mics.

Q: 10. Are there other frequency range units available?

A: I'm sorry, but that system is only available within one frequency range. For more available ranges, I would recommend considering the more professional EW 100 G4 systems, like these: https://bhpho.to/3a3qpaM

[Cardioid] Great high quality mics, with two independent receivers in a single package it's a great way to get two high quality wireless mics with only one power connector. I tried using a single unit rack mount with four receivers as a space effective solution for wireless mics but unfortunately that didn't work well in my space, so I upgraded to this system. Only two mics instead of four and not a rack mount, but still a good compact solution with MUCH higher quality mics. Receiver is only slightly larger than a single unit receiver. Each unit has independently programmable group and channel, as well as output. But only one power cable needed. It might be nice if there were a combined output connection rather than treating each mic as a separate input to the mixer, but that's a minor issue given the overall high quality of the system.
