Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use any XLR microphone - AKG, Sennheiser, Rode, Shure - with the plug-in transmitter, or does it have to be a Sony mic?

A: The Sony UTX-P40 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter included with the Sony UWP-D26 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System can be used with just about any XLR microphone, whether it is a dynamic or condenser style mic, and regardless of the brand.

Q: 2. Is there a limitation on where in the country I can use this wireless set?

A: If referring to use within the United States, the Sony UWP-D26 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System (UC25: 536 to 608 MHz) is able to be used throughout. The only limitations may come when attempting to use within privately owned locations, such as a sports venue with specific wireless permissions and coordination.

Q: 3. is there something on the device that would make it introduce hiss into the transmission? I recently bought one. Tested it with 2 identical senheiser boom mics requiring 48v phantom. One sounds great, the other has a major hiss. Tried it on several other mics (57s/58s) and nothing. The "bad" mic works 100% when wired.

A: 1. Make sure to scan for the best frequencies to use before every session. 2. Try lowering the gain

Q: 4. What is the body length including the antennas?

A: The Sony URX-P40 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver has a specified height of 70mm or 2 7/8 inches without antennas. The antennas can add up to 5 inches of height, but their lengths vary depending on the frequency range chosen. Lower frequencies mean longer antennas.

Q: 5. Can a system like this one be had for under $700 with a configuration of one TX and 2 (to 3) RX. It won't be used for a stadium but for an in-home event, within the restraints of a home's short distance. headphones will be purchased separately.

A: The Shure PSM 300 system will be over the budget, but we do have other systems from other manufacturers like the VocoPro IEM-Digital 4 Wireless Stereo In-Ear Monitoring System (B&H # VOIEMDIG4), the Galaxy Audio AS-950-4N 4-Pack Any Spot Series Wireless Personal Monitoring System - N Band, 518-542 MHz (B&H # GAAS9504N), the CAD GXLIEM4 Quad-Mix In-Ear Wireless Monitoring System - T: 902 to 928 MHz (B&H # CAGXLIEM4), the Nady PEM-04 Wireless 4-Person In-Ear Monitoring System - 903 to 928 MHz (B&H # NAPEM04), and the Xvive Audio U4R4 Wireless In-Ear Monitor System with Four Receivers - 2.4 GHz (B&H # XVU4R4), which are all systems for up to four users. Q: 9. Can multiple receivers be used simultaneously to get the same signal?

A: Yes. An unlimited number of bodypack receivers can tune in to the transmission of one transmitter provided all units are of the same frequency band.

Q: 10. How to adjust volume on actual mic

[Black] I already had a PG wireless receiver, and this mic works perfectly with it. I talked first with Shure, to be certain of the frequency compatibility. 1st gig out, the receiver was located at the mix position, about 70 feet from the stage. There was no fade out, or interference... it just worked. 5 stars.
