The Beta 58A dynamic capsule features a neodymium magnet for greater sensitivity and higher output, as well as a tight supercardioid polar pattern that greatly minimizes background noise and feedback. The dent-resistant steel mesh grille resists wear and abuse. The built-in pop filter reduces undesirable wind and breath noise for clear and intelligible speech.

The durable BLX2 handheld transmitter offers a lightweight, ergonomic design, and is comfortable to hold. Group and channel selection buttons allow for quick and simple frequency matching with the receiver. Other features include an easily accessible on/off button, adjustable gain control, and a black identification cap. The WA621 Color ID Caps kit containing assorted colored caps is available as an optional accessory.

The BLX4 receiver employs a microprocessor-controlled internal antenna diversity feature to improve the quality and reliability of your wireless audio. An LED display shows group and channel settings, while two LED lights indicate when the system is ready for use and the strength of the incoming audio signal. The unit offers 1/4" and XLR outputs for connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Shure offers a BLX1 bodypack transmitter compatible with a variety of lavalier, instrument, and headset microphone options to adapt your BLX system as your needs evolve.

  • The discrete MX153 sub-miniature earset mic provides exceptional clarity in spoken word applications.

  • The WA302 guitar cable lets you connect the bodypack transmitter to a guitar or bass.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how many handheld mics can connect to this system at the same time ?

A: The receiver will only connect with one mic at a time.

Q: 2. I have 5 of these, do you sell a small rack they can all go in? Shelf and rack mount screws are included.

A: For a rackmount case that will hold five of the Sennheiser EW 100 G4-835-S Wireless Handheld Microphone Systems, you may like the SKB 4U Roto Shallow Rack Case with Steel Rails (B&H # SK1SKBR4S) or the SKB 3U Roto Shallow Rack Case with Steel Rails (B&H # SK1SKBR3S), the Gator Pro-Series Roto-Molded Military-Grade Rack Case - 13" Deep, 4 RU - B&H # GAGPRO4U13) or the Gator Pro-Series Roto-Molded Military-Grade Rack Case - 13" Deep, 3 RU (B&H # GAGPRO3U13), the SKB 4U Soft Rack Case (B&H # SK1SKBSC194U) or the SKB 3U Soft Rack Case (B&H # SK1SKBSC193U). The five wireless receivers will fit in a 3RU case, but if you want an extra space for storage, then the 4RU is the better option.

Q: 3. Is this pack of Panasonic eneloop pro AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries (1.2V, 2550mAh, 16-Pack) is compatible with the mics?

A: The Sennheiser SKM 500 G4 Wireless Handheld Transmitter is compatible with Panasonic Eneloop Pro AA Rechargeable batteries.

Q: 4. What kind of distance will this work with, roughly?

A: There is no specification for the operating distance. Variables like ambient noise, sound level of the subject, indoors or outdoors, size and composition of the inside space and flooring, wall and ceiling are all factors to consider. In general - get your mics as close to the source as possible.

Q: 5. does the SSH-6 require phantom power?

A: No idea, but as long as you connect it to a Zoom audio module like the F1 (the one I have), etc... it will be powered. This is for sure not a stand alone mic. It is designed to be used on capsule compatible zoom recorders. Not your question but let me tell you this thing is amazing ! Cheers.

Q: 6. if I place this device 18 away from my mouth, what is the gain level to reach -12db, and at what gain level before I can hear self-noise?

A: I don't know but this mic is the best mic I have used on this recorder!!

Q: 7. Can we mix the directional shotgun mono with the stereo ambience in post? Or is the mix embedded into the audio track as set on the device?

A: The mix will be a mid-side stereo track. You would need mid-side decoder plug-in software to separate the mono mic and the bi-directional mic stereo track in post production.

Q: 8. I'm wondering: is the SSH-6 as good as the SGH-6 in terms of directional 'power'? Or do i need to move it closer to the subject than with the SGH-6?

A: I conducted several tests using both the SGH-6 and the SSH-6. The SSH-6 is 1 inch longer than the SGH-6. The end of the microphone was moved back by 1 inch for each SSH-6 test. So, the distance from the end of the microphone to my mouth was always the same for both. I conducted the tests at 6 inches, 1 foot, 2 feet, and 3 feet. In each case to achieve a level above 12 dB but below 6 dB I adjusted the gain on the microphone. In all cases the two microphones required the same gain. The side stereo level on the SSH-6 was set to 0 dBfor all test. So, I would say to your question, Yes, the power and beam for the shotgun portion of the two microphones are the same.

Q: 9. Does this system have phantom power protection? For example, if you accidentally turn on phantom power on the mixer to use a condenser mic, will it damage the system?

A: The receiver in the Sennheiser EW 100 G4-945-S Wireless Handheld Microphone System with MMD 945 Capsule does not make any specific indication regarding phantom power precautions. Clearly you do not want to have phantom power engaged on the input it is connected to, but it will likely not damage the receiver either.

Q: 10. The exact diameter and length of the mic isn't listed. I'm trying to find a foam screen for this mic. I'm aware the mic comes with a windscreen. Can anyone help me out?

A: The Zoom SSH-6 has a 1 diameter. It is also about 6 long. The Auray WSF-2216 (B&H # AUWSF2216) is currently the best available option. It is a bit longer than 6 , which means you will probably have to cut it slightly to fit the microphone.

[1] First unit arrived DOA but B&H send me a new one super fast (thanks B&H). Great sound quality and great RF performance in a noisy spectrum. I love the sync feature and encryption. The only cons: the battery compartment is very delicate and you have to be very careful not to brake the small door.

[Silver] I already own 2 QLXD mics with the distro and Antenna fins and have never had an issue.  I live in NJ and for all the ocean/beach/NYC events with all sorts of wireless going on around me, they’ve been stellar.  So I purchased two more for a compact system when I don’t need to carry my bigger rack system.  And the beauty of it, is when I need to use four mics I can hook these two up two my Shure distro system!  I also opted for the sm58Beta heads on my mics.  the ordering and delivery from B&H was spot on and they always do a great shop in their service.

[ABS] Always a great choice for vocals, this mic was purchased for just that. We used it last week for a live performance with our female singer, and it sounded nice and lively with her voice.
The fact that ~$40 worth of extras was included for only $10 more was the icing on the cake. The stand feels solid and will hold up well I think. The included mic cable is being kept as a spare, but with Neutrik connectors I dont forsee any issues in the future.

[1x Handheld] Our church bought a large batch of these to replace our ULX systems that were in an outdated frequency band. We liked our ULX and had them for years, but these are a definite step up.
The mic body is made of metal and feels very solid. The power switch is sturdy too, and gives a tactile click so you can be sure you turned it on without having to look.
The range seems very good. We use these at a distance of 60-70 feet, and the signal is very strong using just the antennas that come with the unit.
One thing these do way better than the ULX is battery life. These use AAs (compared to 9V for the ULX), and we get around 10 hours of battery life out of them (compared to about 3 with the ULX). We use NiMH rechargeables, and they work just fine.
These QLXDs will be our go-to in the future for sure.

[Battery] I vacillated over which mic I should buy to pair up with my acoustic guitar and my Fender Acoustic Junior amp. This turned out to be ideal.

[123] The microphone was easily installed and works perfectly with our system. The delivery process was a breeze as well and it actually got to me before the projected date of arrival. Totally satisfied customer!

[Tabletop] When needed, the volume from the Shure mic could be increased with less of a feed back problem from the wedge speaker above the stag and forward of the mic stand. And the audience heard a natural voice sound.
