The integrated SM58 dynamic capsule features a cardioid polar pattern that minimizes background noise and feedback. Its brightened midrange and bass roll-off deliver that sought-after warm and clear vocal reproduction. The built-in spherical wind and pop filter reduces plosives for clean and intelligible speech.

The durable BLX2 handheld transmitter offers a lightweight, ergonomic design and is comfortable to hold. Group and channel selection buttons allow for quick and simple frequency matching with the receiver. Other features include an easily accessible on/off button, adjustable gain control, and a black identification cap. The WA621 Color ID Caps kit containing assorted colored caps is available as an optional accessory.

Shure offers the BLX2 handheld transmitter with a variety of mic capsules to choose from.

The BLX1 bodypack transmitter accommodates a wide range of hands-free microphone options including lavalier, headset, instrument, and earset models to adapt your BLX system as your needs evolve:

  • The WL185 lavalier mic and discrete MX153 sub-miniature earset mic provide exceptional clarity in spoken word applications.
  • The PGA31 is a comfortable, durable headset microphone for active performance.
  • Instrumentalists can attach the WB98H/C flexible gooseneck instrument microphone for brass, woodwind, and percussion applications.
  • The WA302 guitar cable lets you connect to a guitar or bass.

The BLX4R receiver employs a microprocessor-controlled antenna diversity system to improve the quality and reliability of your wireless audio. The receiver can be rackmounted with the included hardware, allowing you to position the two removable antennas on the front of the rack for optimal signal reception.

The LCD display shows group and channel settings, and allows you to meter audio level and signal strength. An LED indicator even lets you keep an eye on the transmitter's remaining battery life. The unit offers 1/4" and XLR connectors with adjustable output level for flexible connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this receiver be as a IFB to monitor audio?

A: Yes, the Sony URX-P40 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver does have a 3.5mm headphone jack which can be used to monitor audio, so it could be used for an IFB application.

Q: 2. Can you use 2 of these units with one body pack transmitter. Use case would be put one receiver on camera for monitoring and one receiver into audio recorder as a way of having redundancy in recordings.

A: Yes, two Sony URX-P40 Camera-Mount Wireless Receivers can be used with a single transmitter, as long as both the transmitter and the receivers are set to the same wireless channel.

Q: 3. is there something on the device that would make it introduce hiss into the transmission? I recently bought one. Tested it with 2 identical senheiser boom mics requiring 48v phantom. One sounds great, the other has a major hiss. Tried it on several other mics (57s/58s) and nothing. The "bad" mic works 100% when wired.

A: 1. Make sure to scan for the best frequencies to use before every session. 2. Try lowering the gain

Q: 4. What is the body length including the antennas?

A: The Sony URX-P40 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver has a specified height of 70mm or 2 7/8 inches without antennas. The antennas can add up to 5 inches of height, but their lengths vary depending on the frequency range chosen. Lower frequencies mean longer antennas.

Q: 5. Does this newer receiver work with the previous gen UTX-B03 transmitter? I need to add a 2nd receiver to my kit.

A: Yes, this URX-P40 receiver will work with the previous generation UTX-B03 transmitter as long as they both operate on the same frequency band.

Q: 6. Will the receiver transmit static when the mic is off?

A: The receiver in the Sennheiser XSW 1-825-A UHF Vocal Set with e825 Dynamic Microphone System should not output static when it is not paired with the microphone transmitter. However, as it operates on open channels, it could be subject to RF in the area when unpaired, which could potentially manifest itself as audio static.

Q: 7. Can the receiver have 2 mics connected to it? Like 1 handheld and 1 lapel mic?

A: No. This receiver can only be used to connect to one transmitter at a time.

Q: 8. can both mics operate at the same time or does one have to be shut off for the other to work?

A: Both microphones in the Samson Expedition XP310w 10" 300W Portable PA System with Wireless Handheld and Lavalier Microphone Kit can be used simultaneously. The XP310w has two wireless receiver slots, one of which is empty upon purchase. This kit bundles a second wireless microphone and receiver for installation and use with the original speaker and microphone all at the same time, if desired.

Q: 9. If I bought 2 of these, could I run all 4 mics simultaneously without frequency interference?

A: Yes, you can run up to 10 transmitters at the same time with these systems.

Q: 10. can this receiver handle 2 transmitters at the same time?

A: Just one transmitter to each receiver please.

[-20 to -10 dB] I bought this microphone to replace one that I got about a year ago. While that one cost about half as much as the Sure, what did I really save with it only lasting a year. Even though this microphone is Sure's lowest cost wireless microphone, the quality is outstanding. The setup was simply putting the batteries in the microphone and plugging the receiver in and it was ready to go. I'm using it for speaking only and the sound is excellent. When you turn the microphone on and off there is no audible sound. I haven't had it to loose connection with the receiver once. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Sure has been a leading microphone manufacture for as long as I can remember. It's nice to be able to buy something of this quality today.
