Q: 2. Does this process/Encode video. would this be less of a burden on a computer if it had to separate capture cards for each video. Does the board do any processing of the video. or does the computer GPU and CPU still have to process the video? I want to use this for live streaming I have a 10th gen I7 with 80+ gbs of ram with 6gb graphics card Nvidia p1000 Laptop. Just want to make sure it can Work. I use OBS

Q: 3. Can I use this with Renewed Vision's Propresenter to have 8 separate outputs for projectors, lower thirds, stage display, etc.?

A: Yes.

Q: 4. Well, ATEM from Blackmagic doesn't seem reliable from reviews and weak point is ATEM doesn't convert frame rates. Now the Question is - Can I use this card to capture 8 input and use it in any of Live Streaming software like Wirecast as switcher? Is there any software like that? The thing is I'll carry a laptop anyway with ATEM so instead will make a good mini tower PC and will have no problem of storage and RAM.Thank you.

A: The latest ATEM Television Studio 4K Pro does accept any HD or UHD resolution and frame rates on input. The Quad 2 would work for your purpose assuming you have 3rd party software to run it and a qualified computer. Blackmagic does not make switching software for this card.

Q: 5. This would work with OBS correct?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 6. Does the card support Resolume Arena software?

A: According to Resolume, their Area software will work with the Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad 2 8-Channel 3G-SDI Capture & Playback Card B&H # BLDLQ2.

Q: 7. Can anyone reccomend a capture software that works with this card allowing all 8 inputs to be captured at once? My PC is plenty powerful (64 cores, 128GB RAM, 6TB RAID0 SSD). Thanks!

A: DeckLink cards support common streaming software such as Flash Media Encoder, Wirecast, Livestream Producer and Resolume Avenue 4. On Mac, stream live video with Flash Media Encoder, Wirecast and Livestream Producer. When streaming on Windows, you get compatibility with Flash Media Encoder, Xsplit Broadcaster, Wirecast and Livestream Producer. Resolume software supports all DeckLink capture and playback products straight out of the box! With DeckLink and Resolume you can capture and play back any QuickTime and AVI video files, as well as Flash animations and text overlays with your WAV and AIFF audio files. With Resolume Arena you can even use SMPTE timecode captured by DeckLink to synchronize clips with lasers, lights, fireworks displays or anything you can imagine for the most mind blowing VJ performances!

[0.56 lb] Been eyeing this for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Love the computer interface so I can keep the unit in a rack and still toggle inputs. Easy GUI. Well worth the purchase.

[PCIe 2.0 x8] Compared to the alternatives, the Decklink Quad 2 gives you more I/O's for your money. That being said, there has got to be a better (more intuitive) way of mapping the connectors. It's confusing, and ends up requiring a lot of plugging and unplugging of sources to see what is what.

[ 22 W] Running a multi monitor wall of screens on my stage wouldn't be possible without the DeckLink. And I love the 8 channel configuration because of all of the flexibility. Switching a channel from output to input is easy, and this takes most of the load off of my M1 Mac.
