The Manfrotto 028B Triman Tripod with Geared Column & XPRO Headis a strong, sturdy tripod with a geared center column built for industrial and studio applications.

Standard features include the tandem leg design, built-in bubble level, and rubber feet with retractable spikes. The geared center column has a non roll-back feature and has a threaded 3/8"-16 mount on the bottom of the column to allow low-angle shots. Strong enough for even the most ardent of medium format applications. The 028B is compatible with the 181B dolly. A mid-level spreader and a carrying strap are included with the tripod.

A: Yes, it will work with the tripod.

Q: 4. Received it today, how do I attach a sand bag to it? Might be a no brainer but what screws onto the bottom column?

A: I have to admit, I do not know. The tripod is so heavy and stable I've never needed to use a sandbag. Once you get it locked down, it is rock solid. The screw coming out of the bottom is a standard 3/8 thread and my bet is someone makes a hook that threads onto it allowing you to attach a sandbag. Check with B&H and see if such a hook is available.

Q: 5. Will the 028B Triman tripod support the Manfrotto MVH 502AH and MHXPRO-3W video heads?

A: Yes, the 028B Triman can easily support either head.

Q: 6. I'm confused by the questions regarding a head. I limited my search for tripod LEGS only, not legs AND a head. So does this unit have a head that comes with the tripod legs? or do you buy the head separately? N.b. I don't want the head. Thanks.

A: Absolutely! This would make an incredibly stiff and strong choice for the WH200 (or any gimbal, really).

A: Yes, it will. It has a flat base with a 3/8 male screw. The good thing on this tripod is that you can lower it to a 16.9 height, the bad one it's weight: 9.5 lb. Too heavy to carry-on all day. Setup time in sloping terrains will take longer than a tripod with ball head.

Q: 10. Can I mount a Panasonic AW-UE150 directly to this tripod?

[12 lb] Just buy it. If you re looking for a failsafe tripod that you can walk away from and know it's not going anywhere, then this is the one for you. I use with ball-heads & gimbals to hold my heavy telephoto setup and it works like a champ. If you are buying a tripod like this, you shouldn't be worried about the weight. It's not heavy for me, maybe for some. I take it everywhere for the reason that it's hefty and know it will suite me needs for fieldwork shooting wildlife. 5

[12 lb] I'm mainly a real estate photographer, using lots of bracketed photos at slow shutter speeds, and I do some sports videography (dslr) for fun. This tripod is heavy but not cumbersome. I really like the build quality and it is quite stable even when only opened to a small footprint. For video, it solidly supports my 4 foot slider. I just need to complement it with a stronger video head. 5

[Spiked] This thing is a beast to carry around, but it's exactly what I wanted. I have a Sony 1 pro camcorder--something far smaller than this tripod's payload capacity--which I often use for shooting community events or small performances where there's no dedicated elevated perch for a camcorder. This was my solution for a stable tripod that ensures that I can always shoot over the heads of any crowd and never have a person walking into my shot. It's almost always easier to bring a small step stool and this tripod than to try elevating the camera and the operator. 5

[Yes] You need this if you are filming, don't put a nice camera on an inferior tripod. It's irresponsible. This thing is sturdy and gives me room to grow. Makes my life incredibly easy and I'd recommend this to anyone. Only thing that makes me upset is that it doesn't come with the head piece so make sure that you buy that so you can connect your camera. 5

[Spiked] I shoot several events per year where I don't have the time, space, or budget to do an elevated video platform. This tripod makes it super-easy to position the camcorder above adult height to shoot over a crowd at seminars and other events where an elevated shooting position is the only way to keep a clear line of sight. So instead of an expensive elevated camera platform, this plus a small step stool will accomplish the same thing quickly, easily, and inexpensively. 5

[3/8"-16 Male] We needed a tripod that was tall and sturdy for weddings. C stands are an option but they're SO heavy. Got this and for the price it's amazing. It's sturdy and easy to set up. Also is tell enough to be able to film over peoples heads during weddings. Definitely recommend. 5
