Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are the base threads 7/8-27 ?

A: 5/8"-27 Male

Q: 2. Will this boom stand work with the Impact Boom Arm (Black, Chrome-plated, 86 )?

A: The one it comes with is good you dont need that .

Q: 3. What is the bottom thread? I am looking for something that will accept M20.

A: It is 5/8"-27 Male as far a we can determine.

Q: 4. Can this stand support Tascam DR-40, if yes what accessory do I need? Thanks

A: Hi Milagros;I think so, but try to check Tascam AK-DR11G accesories for Taskam DR H40. The sound register system I bough last year was different from your choice, thus be sure before purchase about the adapters included in you Taskam DR H40.

Q: 5. I think the description is wrong. No way this stand goes up to 21 feet. Is this correct?

A: According to the datasheet from K&M, the 25977 stand goes up to 24.6" https://www.k-m.de/us/kmPdf/datasheet/ordernumber/US-25977-500-55

Q: 6. Will this stand work for a Sennheiser 416, and do I need any sort of adaptor or clip?

A: Yes the stand will work. Use this microphone clip: Sennheiser MZQ100 Quick Release Stand Adapter for K3U, MD409 and MKH-416 Microphones B&H # SEMZQ100

Q: 7. Is anyone using this with a K&M 19740 Tablet PC Holder? The tablet holder can work with up to 1.18" tube. Hoping the 2 lb. base will hold the tablet holder in place.

A: I would recommend using a different stand with a heavier base since the K&M 19740 Tablet PC Holder weighs 1.74 lb. without the tablet. As another option for a similar but heavier stand, you may want to consider the K&M 23325 Table/Floor Mic Stand (B&H # KM23325) which weighs 5.6 lb. or the Atlas Sound DMS7E Stand - Ebony (B&H # ATDMS7E) which weighs 7.3 lb.

Q: 8. If I am putting a microphone on it, do i need to buy an extra piece to go with the stand? Or does it come with it already?

A: This is just the stand - it does not come with a microphone clip. The part that actually holds the microphone is called a clip, and should come with the mic (guaranteeing that it will fit). Mic clips can be purchased for your specific mic.

Q: 9. Does this wheel include the mount for a go pro?

A: It does not

Q: 10. What all is included with this item? What gear comes with it? I looked at the In the Box tab, but I just wanted to make sure.

A: Mine came with the stand, boom arm, spigot, and empty sand bag.

[Screw-Knob] I’ve become a big fan of the Tama stands since picking up a few of their shorties for drum use. The biggest pro for me is that the final (smallest) boom adjustment is very solid and the knobs feel secure. This is a failure point I’ve encountered with the “industry standard” brand. Tama has made a convert out of me

[Steel] I bought the TAMA Tour Mic Stand to take on location audio situations that require a voice over along with specific voice over style microphones.  This is primarily for clients that prefer or feel more comfortable having a mic stand.  The TAMA Tour Series stand gets a 5 Star rating primarily for its solid build quality with a reasonable weight to keep it portable and easy to transport.  I prefer the TAMA Tour round base because the stand does not thread directly into the base ( a weakness of other brand round base stands) and is not subject to cross threading or breakage at the base.  The center shaft of the TAMA stand actually  slides into the base and is secured by a T-bolt from the bottom side of the round base.  Genius!  I prefer the TAMA Tour Series to other non-TAMA brands for solid performance, portability and durability.  I would not consider adding a boom arm to this particular stand and suspend any of my microphones at any distance away from the main shaft.  If you need a boom arm stand get one with a tripod base for stability.  For vocalists, public address or voice over this stand will serve you well.  Disclaimer:  the only stands I like better than the TAMA Tour Series stands are the TAMA Studio Series stands which are the finest mic stands out there.  They are extremely stable, built like a tank, and heavy!  The Studio Series is hands down the best mic stands you can buy in my book.  If you dont move your mic stands around much for location work, get the Studio Series.  If you move your mic stands around frequently and portability is at the top of your list, then the Tama Tour Series deserves your serious consideration.

[9.4 lb] Prior to getting the Auray Telescoping Boom Arm I was using a little tripod mic stand that I would pull out and put away every time I wanted to use my mic with my computer. It worked, but was clunky and in the way most of the time.

This arm gets the stand off my desk and makes it quick and easy to use my mic on calls or for recording sound. I LOVE this. I should have done this setup a long time ago.

It feels secure attached to my desk and slides out into place in a matter of seconds. Because it slides out almost 32 inches I can tuck the clamp on the side of my desk and it stays out of the way until use.

Overall this is a no brainer and I wish I have would have went with this setup awhile ago.

[Tripod] The Auray MS-DTCL-32 is a fantastic mic stand for voiceover work in my small home office/studio. The table clamp mount is strong and keeps my microphone secure. I've had this type of desk mount wobble on me in the past but the Auray model keeps my gear very stable. The build quality is solid and the boom extension is nice and smooth. I connected this to a MJE-modded Hulk 990 and instantly found excellent results when dialing in the placement with the adjustable tilt. Couldn't ask for more! I received this product in exchange for my honest review.

[Black] Very lightweight compared to other mic stands I’ve used. But still quite stable. I take this on video shoots for interviews. Setup is easy and the stand is reliable.
