Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can these plates and 4pin XLR be used on other monitors? Just want to use 1 of them on my 1703 monitor.

A: They can. The plates provide 11–17 VDC, unregulated.

Q: 2. Does this come with the 2 top mounting screws?

A: Yes, but it doesn't sit flush and the inside connector that connects to extension unit is exposed to the elements. It works but needs to be redesigned.

Q: 3. Will this fit Sony FX9?

A: We're afraid not. This is for the FS7 only, it will not work with the FX9.

Q: 4. How does this mount?

A: This battery plate is designed to be a part of a full rig for your C300 Mark II. For example, if you have a rig with 15mm rods, such as B&H # SHC300SM from Shape, you would just need a cheese plate with a 15mm connection. We have such options from Anton Bauer and Axler, B&H numbers ANMATCHSPL and AXCP81515LWS.https://bhpho.to/2w52YsChttps://bhpho.to/2u0RLuShttps://bhpho.to/2FOLPYK

Q: 5. Can you use multiple outputs simultaneously or just one at a time? I want to power my Sony FS7 and a monitor with just one v-mount battery.

A: Yes you can. This will connect directly to the FS7 for power and has D-Tap power ports you can use to power accessories from.

Q: 6. Would this be compatible with the FS5?

A: We're afraid not. This mount directly on to the back of the Sony FS7 and it not compatible with the FS5.

Q: 7. Why does this photo show a two pin Lemo port but the unit only has a D-tap and USB?

A: The Core SWX Articulating Gold Mount Battery Plate for Sony PXW-FX6 photos do not necessarily illustrate the product in the description. We provide the best images as possible on our site to illustrate the item you will be receiving but the image isn't always the exact item.

Q: 8. Does the 4pin XLR input power the DTap outputs along with the camera?

A: This product has a power output via 4 Pin XLR. The 4Pin XLR output sends power to the 4 Pin XLR input on the C300 MK III or C500 MK II. All D-taps will be active when you mount a battery on it.

Q: 9. Will this install on the Bright Tangerine top plate for the FX6?

A: The Core SWX Articulating Gold Mount Battery Plate for Sony PXW-FX6 is designed to attach directly to the FX6 when installed. Once the plate is mounted onto the camera, the battery plate position can be adjusted by tilting the hinge. The assembly closely matches the rear profile of the camera to allow it to efficiently fit in a camera case.

Q: 10. Does this battery plate include the mounting screws to attach it to a cheese plate?

A: Yes, the mounting screws should be included with this battery plate.

[Gold Mount] Have only been using it for the past week or so but was put though it's paces in the Canadian Rockies and worked like a charm. Was happy it fit so snugly. Solid construction.

[Gold Mount] Fits nice and snug to the camera body and works great. The Sony option is too expensive for what it gives you.

[0.36 lb] There seem to be a myriad of ways to power the FS7. You have the stock Sony batteries, V-Mount, the Sony extension unit, various plate options and this guy. It fits snugly to the camera and looks like it belongs on there. It is well designed and not too heavy. It would be nice if it was completely sealed from the elements, but you would really need to be in a sketchy environment to get anything into it- a small portion of the back is not sealed. The only downside is that it won't transmit time remaining on your battery to the camera as hours and minutes, It sends that info as volts, since it uses the DC input on the back of the camera for power.

[0.36 lb] Bought this after reading a few reviews about the Anton Bauer one I was going to get because people had problems with the Anton. This works great, plugged it in and bolted it on. I use my Anton Bauer Dionic batteries on it which helps with rear weight on the FS7. The Sony rear attachment was too expensive for me at the time so this works nice if you want to use gold mount batteries.

[Gold Mount] I've used this once so far on a commercial shoot and found it to be reliable and well made.

I Like the rigid mounting, something that's missing from the Wooden Camera model. I feel like this gives a better consistent feel when operating and held, and prevents shifting weight for Steadicam setups. It acts as an integral part of the camera.

I didn't have any issues with the power dropping out like the last reviewer because I had the FX9's included BP series battery installed. That allows for hot swaps and protects from batteries dropping out. Plus the Core Batteries and others usually have a power status that makes it too easy to monitor the remaining battery life. After three days of shooting the BP battery still had about 60% power.

And if your adventurous, you could easily have a machinist add a few Lemo/Brand-X power connectors on the side.

[Gold Mount] My tilta battery plate eventually stopped working (which is a pretty terrible thing to have happen when shooting). This still works from when I got it when it first came out. Word of warning--the lemo port on this will not work with a Tilta Lemo cable. The tilta cable got stuck, and would not come out. I ended up buying a second one of these because of that, and used a different lemo, so it all worked out in the end. Anyhow, I liked this better than my titla plate.

[Gold Mount] This is a well designed battery plate that does what it needs to do. The extra mounting points on the top are a nice touch. Adding two P-Tap outputs also gives the FX9 much needed functionality. The fit and finish is very solid and even with a heavy 160wH battery attached I get no wiggle at the mounting point. As noted by others the failure of the camera to read the voltage is a major disappointment but this is a Sony issue in my opinion and Core has done a great job with the 19v input situation given by Sony.
