The Smart App Series offers full-featured network UPS management capabilities with the PowerPanel Business Edition software and an optional SNMP network management card. These remote management tools enable centralized power management, monitoring, control, and configuration. They also provide for safe shutdown of connected servers, workstations, and other devices via a standard web browser or network management system (NMS).

The PowerPanel Business Edition software, included with every Smart App Sinewave UPS, enables an administrator to remotely manage each aspect of the UPS and facilitate the orderly automatic shutdown of connected equipment in the event of an extended power outage. This software also provides comprehensive network power management for corporate servers and critical workstations supported by the UPS, such as application/operating system shutdown, event logging, reporting, alerts, and notifications.

Smart App UPS systems allow programming of critical outlets and non-critical outlets, giving administrators the ability to prioritize outlets and increase battery backup runtimes for the most critical equipment during extended power outages. Programmable outlet control also gives an administrator the option to delay-start non-critical outlets, permitting the internal batteries to fully recharge more quickly. This feature is vital to data centers where seamless, uninterrupted equipment bootup is a necessity.

GreenPower UPS Technology from CyberPower consists of three different energy-saving designs that improve operating efficiency, reduce heat generation, and consume less power than conventional UPS models.

ECO Mode - is a form of bypass technology that can be switched on full time, set for noncritical times (such as nights and weekends), or switched off. This flexibility can help conserve power and save money.

Bypass Design - allows current to bypass the transformer and automatic voltage regulation (AVR) when utility power is normal, thus reducing energy consumption and associated costs. Because utility power functions normally most of the time, the bypass design allows for energy savings. This technology also reduces heat generation, an important factor in decreasing operating costs.

High-Efficiency Design - significantly decreases power consumption to create an efficient backup battery for home and office use.

CyberPower UPS systems harness high-efficiency ventilation, GreenPower UPS technology, and innovative system components to ensure quiet operation.

Noise Filtering improves picture and sound quality in audio/video systems, CyberPower uses advanced EMI/RFI noise filtering coils to decrease problems caused by electromagnetic fields and radio frequency interference. The filters smooth minor current fluctuations which cause disruptive humming and static.

Line Conditioning with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) prolongs the life of sensitive electronic equipment. AVR line conditioning adjusts the incoming AC voltage, keeping it within safe levels and reducing stress caused by power fluctuations.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What's the point of a 1 minute UPS?

A: In an event where power shuts off suddenly, a computer can crash and data can be lost. A UPS can give you time to shut off safely.

Q: 2. Does this have the coaxial protection as pictured? The specs say nothing about that, and the model on the manufacturer website is slightly different, without the coaxial in/out.

A: Yes, this model does offer coaxial protection.

Q: 3. does this make any noise? fan noise? I'm think about mounting this in my sound studio.

A: Bit late to the party, but in the hopes this may help someone: Yes, it makes noise. There is a constant hum, not just when on battery power, and noticeable vibration, kind of like touching a speaker. I would not recommend this for a quiet location.

Q: 4. DOES THIS COME WITH RAILS? IF NOT, WHICH ONES FIT? thanks! :)

A: The CyberPower CPS1500AVR Smart App Equipped Uninterrupted Power Supply BH #CYPS1500AVR comes with rack ears for rack mounting, it does not include rails. If you want rails, you can purchase the CyberPower 4POSTRAIL Rackmount Rail Kit BH #CY4POSTRAIL.

Q: 5. Can this UPS be remotely managed?

A: Yes, this CyberPower Smart App LCD UPS can be remotely managed, using the included PowerPanel Business Edition Software.

Q: 6. will rack ears alone support this unit's 50 POUNDS? seems like rails would be required to not damage the rack or equipment.

A: Yes, the rack ears that are included with the CyberPower CPS1500AVR Smart App Equipped Uninterrupted Power Supply BH #CYPS1500AVR are able to hold if properly secured. A rail kit is available separately if you prefer that. CyberPower 4POSTRAIL Rackmount Rail Kit B&H # CY4POSTRAIL

Q: 7. Can you use a 2 Ft. 14 gauge extension cord with the CP 1500PFCLCD? I did use it for several years with a older CP1350PFCLCD. Or is a 2 Ft. 12 gauge extension cord better to use?

A: A 14ga extension cord should be adequate for the wattage capabilities of the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS.

Q: 8. How many RU does this take up? Will it fit in a 2U space, or does it need more room?

A: CyberPower CPS1500AVR Smart App Equipped Uninterrupted Power Supply is 2 RU.

Q: 9. Will this support CPAP unit through the night?

A: UPS devices are not made to provide constant power in any way. They are made specifically for the purpose of shutting down a PC softly if and when there is a power outage. Most of these devices with smaller capacities can only support about 5 minutes of power to a PC with an average of 150W - 200W of usage, just enough time to systematically perform a soft shut down process on a PC to preserve data. I would not recommend using this device with any type of medical devices other than a Windows driven USB enabled computer.

Q: 10. Will this be sufficient to power a 16 core 2019 Mac Pro 7,1?

A: Assuming a power load of about 400 Watts for the computer and one monitor, this CyberPower 1500 VA Smart App LCD UPS would run for about 30 minutes. (calculator: https://bit.ly/3Rn2G8S).

[ 1030 Joules] i was looking for something not too bulky or heavy. I generally buy APC but their version was about 15lb heavier and more expensive. This one was just right for a couple switches in my wall rack

[120 VAC ] This UPS is perfect. It has replaceable batteries and tells you how long it will last when you plug a load into it. It has voltage monitoring and this unit makes it easy to go through the functions. I installed this in my home server Rack. I'm running The UDM-PRO, USW 24 POE, and my Freenas server with my Plex server and mine os server running 24/7. With all this running it will last 20 minutes with no issues. This gives my back up generator time to kick in. Great Product.

[120 VAC ] A friend suggested I look at these for backup power for small switch racks. I have now purchased 10 of them!
Paired with a network manager card and CyberPower's PowerPanel Business 4 (free), I can see the status of every UPS in one place, and with the environment monitoring addon, the temperature and humidity too.
We used to have outages all the time due to flickering power, but not anymore. I highly recommend these.
