The large Low Heat Quartz LED Lightbanks from Chimera offer simple set-up and are made with the same durable material as the Quartz Plus One Lightbanks but replace high heat material with a soft silver interior. These lightbanks offer a big, broad beam of light for film and video applications. Included with each lightbank are four poles, a removable internal 1/8 grid baffle, one 1/8 grid front screen and a carry sack. The lightbank measures 54 x 72".

Q: 4. which lights fixtures does this fit? is there a certain size fixture diameter?

A: Many lights can fit on to the Pancake Lantern Softbox. All that is needed is the correct speedring if one is available.The softbox in general is a regular 4 pole softbox. If you do have a specific light in mind it is best you contact us direct via chat or phone.

Q: 5. Can you use an Arri 650 with this unit?

A: I think it would work but the fresnel beam would only cover 50% of the pancake. A bare bulb works better. I have a bi-color LED strip wrapped around a tube.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with KinoFlo Celeb 400?

A: Unfortunately, this softbox would not be compatible with a Kino Flo Celeb as there are no speed rings available for it.

Q: 7. what type of speeding is needed for general household / cfl bulb fixtures? I could not tell from the site.

A: I use it with the Chimera Triolet Flood Light - comes with the household bulb adapter.

Q: 8. Has anyone used this with a Dracast LED 1000 panel? Does it fit well?

A: It does fit ok. You have to get the straps over the light to hold and it does take a little positioning to get it to fit. I ended up making my own diffusion panel out of silent grid cloth cut to fit and attaching it with velcro. I use these for interviews a lot. Usually one panel through a 42 flex silk and the other with the Chimera armed out as a backlight.

Q: 9. How hot a light can this modifier handle? What is the difference form the low-heat version #6080?

A: The Chimera Lightbank Octaplus 4 in Silver is rated for a 1000 watt tungsten fixture.

Q: 10. Can I fit a ALZO 85W Joyous Light Full Spectrum bulb in this?

A: No, the Chimera light has a Mogul base and that is larger than the bulb you mentioned which is E26/E27.

[Silver] Overall I really love this, but two things... firstly I saw in another review that they were glad they went with the larger lantern because is barely reaches 4'. I think the 4' is diagonal, not long edge, so it is not really 4' and secondly, you get the impression that it fits any speed ring, and B & H lists several. But it did not fit any that I already had, and one was a speed ring recommended by B & H. You absolutely need to use the Chimera speed ring from Chimera with the spring loaded tabs. Most of the generic ones the holes are too small for the rods. 5

[Yes] Nice addition to my bag for cold-weather shooting. The little pocket for tucking in a hand warmer is very functional, and it's nice that they fit comfortably under a pair of gloves/mittens. 5

[Yes, Removable] I’ve owned this crate for 6 years now, and it’s held its shape all this time. The frame is resilient, the fabric is tough, and though needing a little easy realignment now and then, is as good as the first day I bought it. 5

[Yes, Removable] The product is well designed and modifies soft light around the subject where I need it. I use the modifier on my Dracast 1000 while doing boudoir shoots or being a light assistance to other continuous lighting setup. Since I found this modifier, I have come to love my 1000 and use more and more these days. 5
