Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. For 27mm to 37mm what is the inner diameter (on 27mm side)?

A: I don't know the answer.

Q: 2. If I flip this around can I use it as a step-down ring? I know I'll have to deal with vignetting (well, maybe not technically vignetting, but overlap into the image area), but will it work until I can get the correct size filters? Or are the threads threaded in such a way that it can only screw on to the lens on one side and the filter on the other and cannot be flipped?

A: No, this can only be used as a step up ring.

Q: 3. is this for general lenses? i have a canon 50mm (nifty fifty) will this work on it?

A: The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 has a 49mm filter threading. This is adapter allows you to put a 62mm filter on a lens with a 49mm thread. It will work with the Canon 50mm F/1.8, B&H # CA5018EFSTM.

Q: 4. If I have a camera with a 30mm thread size, and a 37mm fisheye, do I need a step-up or step-down ring?

A: If your filter/attachment is larger than your lens, it's a step-up. In this case, your fisheye attachment is 37mm and your lens' front diameter is 30mm, hence, you'd need a step-up ring.

Q: 5. Will the Sensei step up rings work for freewell magnetic filters?

A: Since the ring is aluminum, it is not magnetic. The Freewell Empty Magnetic Base Ring (82mm) would still be needed in order to attach their other magnetic filters. https://bhpho.to/3hEadRN

Q: 6. ok so I am planing on purchasing filter with 77mm thread and I want to also use it on a 58mm and 67mm threaded lenses so would the 58-77mm step up work for all 3 lenses? 67 being in the middle? Or do I need 2 separet step up filters? One 58-77mm and one 67-77mm

A: Dear friend, the reason to buy a bigger filter for smaller lens is to avoid vignetting at wide setting. For your case (filter 77mm / lenses 58mm and 67mm) you need two step-up rings. One from 58 77 and another from 67 77. To save one ring you must buy a 67mm filter and use to the 58 lens with step-up ring and as it is to your other lens (67mm diameter). I hope I have solved your problem.

Q: 7. Is there a knurled version of this 77 to 95 mm step up ring ?

A: I didn't know; didn't buy it.

Q: 8. What is the tread pitch of the filter?

A: The Sensei 86-95mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring has a 1.0mm thread pitch.

Q: 9. Can I double up two step-up, 43-58mm and 58-67mm, adaptors to put 67mm filter on a 43mm filter thread lens?

A: Yes. I do that with my larger filters so I don't have to buy every size to fit all my all my lenses. I do try to make sure I don't block any sensors that are on the front of the camera.

Q: 10. Can use Nisi V5/V5 Pro?

A: This is step up ring set , to use Nisi V5/V5 you will still need Nisi adapter ring

[3 mm] I'm still new to photography, but after hearing about this product, I had to try it out. I bought it and used it for a few days. While the auto WB on my D90 was quite good, it wasn't necessarily perfect. I'm kind of a nut for accurate representation in my pictures unless I'm specifically going for a specific effect, of which I'd still like to be in control of. The only thing I wasn't totally happy about, though I understand why it's there, is the mounting mechanism. It's just like small spring loaded bearings on the lens or filter attachment adapter. It doesn't screw in, just kind of pops on and off. I guess that assists in ease of use, but I don't like worrying about dropping filters when they're in use. I guess many people would rather have the pop on and off than screw on, and I'm probably in the minority. Still, a great product, highly recommended especially if you've had auto WB problems with your camera in the past.

[49 mm to 58 mm] It works really well. I would be cautious on your lens that you use because these can be difficult to get off on then framed lenses.

[0.02 lb] Its a pretty great product, tiffen makes quality items, the filter seems sturdy and strong, doesnt see to bend easily, but you should not force it. Awesome and cheap way to share filters between lens.

[3 mm] If you need to adapt a 58mm thread to a 77mm thread, this is your ring right here. It's ringy, it provides the ability to adapt a smaller thread to a larger thread, and it's black - the color of professionals. What more do you want? Buy it already.
