REV Reverse Instrument Suite Downloadfrom REV Reverse Instrument Suite Downloadis a massive collection of instruments, loops, rises, and pads, all based on reversed sound. Well suited for producers, composers, and musicians, the REV suite utilizes the Native Instruments Kontakt player and is packed with over 14GB of content including complex synths, multilayered organic pads, real instruments, loops, rises, pulses, swells, stutters, and more. All sounds were professionally recorded in a commercial recording facility.

REV can create a broad palette of sounds by way of its four engines: instruments, loops, rises, and timed instruments. Each engine offers global effects including distortion, bit-crush, filter, delay, reverb, and EQ. All of the effects can be engaged from the panel or played in real time via a MIDI controller. Additionally, each engine offers a stutter effect, a multimode filter, and dedicated envelopes for the filter and amplifier.

There are nearly 500 presets available in instrument and timed instrument engines, which are broken up into categories including fundamentals, pads, pulses, swells, plucked, simple, sling-shot, sound design, stutter one-shots, aggressive, and percussive. Each patch offers two layers with controls for volume, pan, and tuning and both are mixed in the main section. The instruments engine offers a global sample start, which lengthens or shortens the reversed sound based on user preference. The timed instruments engine is controlled by note duration and include settings for whole, half, and quarter notes.

The loops engine has a single window interface and utilizes recordings of real instruments, organized into categories including acoustic piano, acoustic guitar, guitar harmonics, bells-bowls-glass, cymbals-shaker, percussion, aggressive, pulses, atmospheres, swells, and sound design. Once a bank is pulled up, 24 loops are laid out across the keyboard, while another two octaves control the key in which the loop is played. Additionally, the speed of the loop can run in half-time or double-time, and all loops will stay in sync with the host tempo.

Similar to the Loops engine setup, Rise offers three banks of sounds: A, B, and C, which are separated by duration and type. Each bank offers durations from a quarter note to four bars, but the half and double settings effectively provide a range from an eighth note to eight bars. The three types offered include rises that end abruptly, rises with a tail, and electro rises, which include an effect such as a building filter sweep.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there anyway to remove/reverse the stud? I'd like to mount a light that uses a female thread (so I'm hoping that you can reverse the stud to reveal a male thread)?

A: It's fixed and not reversible. You'll need a stud to thread adapter.

Q: 2. How does this stand compare to the Matthews Reverse stand? I can see the MERF packs smaller, and the Reverse Stand holds a little more weight. Neither of those issues are deciding factors for me. Are there any other differences? I'm curious why people picked one over the other? I'm leaning towards getting the MERF because their max weights are so similar, but with the wider base it seems like the Reverse Stand should have more advantage than what the spec shows.

A: It's all about saving space for travel. If you're not worried about cramming into a roller bag for airplane travel, or attaching your stands to a backpack, then by all means buy another stand. I love the fact that I can strap mine to the outside of the case my LED panels travel in. Given the choice between the MERF and the regular reverse stand, I can't understand why anyone would buy the regular reverse stand because both stands have skinny reverse-folding legs. The regular reverse folding stand isn't offering much more weight carrying capacity. If you're concerned about weight capacity and stability more than you are concerned about collapsed size, then just buy a more traditional kit stand. The Matthews Medium Duty kit stand is in the same price range. If you really need extra weight capacity and stability, check out the Matthews Beefy Baby.

Q: 3. Can this hold an Aputure 120d with Light dome ii?

A: It is rated for 11 lbs. Just be careful of wind.

Q: 4. Will this hold the alien bee 400?

A: MERF Mini has a 9 lb capacity I would think you may have to use caution outside if you are adding a soft box to it. WIND

Q: 5. Are the knobs plastic or metal?

A: hardened plastic t-handles with stainless steel threading.

Q: 6. What is the minimum operating height for this stand? Obviously the “folded” length is 20”, but not operating height unless the legs expanded flat to the floor.

A: As long as the center is just off the floor its fine. 20.25" more or less.

Q: 7. I never used a stand this small before. I need something low that can hold a Godox ad400 pro and 3x3 soft box. Am I pushing it?

A: Yes, you are pushing it, The Matthews MERF Mini Extendable Reverse Stand is made for small flashes like speedlights. Chances are it will tip over with the AD400pro and a softbox.

Q: 8. Would this be compatible with alien bee 400 and 86'plm?

A: It sound like it will do the trick just be careful out side.

Q: 9. How low does it go?

A: I have this stand and the base lays completely flat allowing your light to go all the way to the floor.

Q: 10. Looking for a travel solution. Will theses stands be good for boom and shotgun / aputure 60d w/ soft mix mini ii?

A: The Matthews MERF Mini Extendable Reverse Stand would work well for holding an Aputure 60d light; it might work as a boom for a very lightweight mic, but putting weight on the legs would be a good idea.

The sounds are just like having backup singers at your fingertips. With the word builder function to actually have them sing matching sections to original tracks, ithese are a must have as a part of my studio options.

This program was a long time coming. I had been an owner of one of the original mid 1960s Compact Combos for many years, until things started to break down. And of course, next to impossible to find parts. Or people that are able and willing to repair them. Some of the modern keyboards do have some of the Farfisa sounds, but in reality, only a small amount of them(like maybe 2 or 3 of them). In reality, there is more of a diverse amount of tones that the Farfisa produced. Even resorted to buying one of the Electro-Harmonix C9 organ emulator pedals, but that still wasn't enough of these particular kinds of tone for me. Then Arturia started coming out with these new virtual instrument programs. The dealers that I normally buy from carried the similar type of Vox Continental program(which would have probably worked fine, and would have settled for it) but knowing that the Farfisa program was also being made, I had to search to see who carried it. No regrets here. All the sounds that I was familiar with, and where they were situated on the virtual keyboard screen. What was interesting that they had the option of effects pedals in this program......and I would always run my Farfisa through a Phase Shifter and/or a Flanger when I had it. Also learned a few things that I did not know about my original instrument. There used to be this one controller that stuck out of the bottom, that you controlled with your knee. When I bought my original Farfisa(used, back in the mid-70s), that knee controller was missing, and it was something I never noticed. So, a bit more historical and technical information on the instrument you played regularly---but didn't know about. It's easy to get a keyboard that has the piano, Rhodes, and Hammond sounds, to name a few......but nobody seemed to get the Farfisa sounds right. Until now. Great timing, on the part of Arturia!

This software is a tremendous help in cleaning up background noise in audio. I use the plugin with Davinci Resolve. So far it has been working great. I would recommend checking it out if you are looking to cleanup audio.

Ive only scratched the surface of Emotional Violins features, but it already has proven useful in two recent projects. It sits well in the mix on top of other orchestra string libraries. It has more than two dozen articulations that gives it a realistic sound. Well done.

Beautiful, lush, flexible reverb from Relab, whom I think are the best reverb developers outside of UAD at this point. The controls are simple but the tone-shaping abilities are robust. The 3 different algorithms each provide a different character of decay, and the ensemble modes provide absolutely gorgeous modulation on the tails.
