A: Max extension for the boom arm is 105 and the load capacity at full extension is 17.7 lbs. Unfortunately, you're not going to be able to get 30 lbs out to full extension.

Q: 8. The maximum extension is 105 (according to a Q&A response)--but don't you have to back it down about 18 to 24 for a counterbalance? I only need to put about 7 or 8 pounds on the end. Can it hold that without a counterbalance at full extension? How much weight can it take at full extension without a counterbalance?

A: The maximum extension is 105 with the pushed forward completely and the top riser extended on it. You would only need about 18 at the end to clamp on a counterweight, which should be used even if the light being placed on it is only 8 lbs for safety.

A: The included shockmount features a female 3/8 to 5/8 male microphone adapter (similar to B&H# AUADCOMBOB) that allows integration with European standardized mic stands. To remove, simply locate the indentations or grooves on the outer edge of the adapter, and use a flat head screw-driver or small coin to turn an loosen; at which point the shockmount will have the correct size for your mic stand.
