Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Greetings, I am a location sound mixer and I am building my cart, which will be separate from my audio bag. I primarily record narrative features, but will be doing some live event work soon (stand-up comedy & music). My question is: would the L-12 work well as the heartbeat of my cart? As the mixer/recorder and with the headphone outs, can this be used as adequate IFB for video village? And, finally does the L-12 generate timecode?

A: This has five headphone outputs that can each have it's own individual mix, so throretically it can be used for IFB. It will not do timecode. Other than that it works like any other digital mixer.

Q: 2. What is in the box? What batteries does it charge for Panasonic?r

A: Included in the box are five types of battery plates, two each, for a total of ten. It has two types of Panasonic plates. The Panasonic batteries it can charge are secured: VW-VBG6, VW, VBG260, unsecured: VW-VBD55, VW-VBD58

Q: 3. Can I record via the USB output (into my laptop) while simultaneously using an analog (headphone) output into my video camera?

A: Yes, you can perform this kind of operation with the L-12.

Q: 4. Would this charge the larger AG-VBR89G batteries? It does seem as if the VW-VBD58 is the same as the AG-VBR59. I don't know the difference but hopefully since it charges the smaller battery, hopefully it would also charge the larger capacity as well.

A: The IDX System Technology LC-2A Two-Channel Charger for 7.4V Canon, Panasonic & Sony Batteries (B&H# IDLC2A) is not designed to charge the Panasonic 7.28V 65Wh Lithium-Ion Battery for DVX200 (8850mAh) (B&H# PAAGVBR89) properly. Please use the Panasonic Battery Charger for AG-VBR & Other Batteries (B&H# PAAGBRD50P) for that purpose: https://bhpho.to/3OJl242

Q: 5. So on inputs 9/10 and 11/12, if you plug your single mono input into the left channel, it will come across both L and R in mono?

A: No, input 9 is routed directly to Main L and input 10 is routed to Main R. 9/10 are controlled by a single fader and share controls, but there is no summing taking place. This is true for both stereo channels of the Zoom LiveTrak L-12.

Q: 6. The audio recorded on each track is Raw audio (pre faders and or EFX) or is recorded after process? Thanks

A: The recording is pre-fader and pre-effects. It can also be pre-compressor, there is a setting for that. So yes, it is RAW . The other person who answered is wrong.

Q: 7. Does this work well with Mac Os Catalina?

A: Yes!

Q: 8. What are the technical differences between this and Watson Duo LCD Charger? For example, will this charge batteries faster?

A: We are not aware of any difference in charging time between this and the Watson Duo. This product does come with the various plates already, where as the Watson Duo will come with plates for one kind of battery and require you to purchase additional plates. This system also has the safety feature of powering down when inactive for an hour.

Q: 9. I lost the power supply form mine. Which one will fit? IDX customer suport was useless and their manual does not say which pin fits the charger.

A: Unfortunately, the manufacture does not offer the ac cables of the box. You can use the following options instead. 1-Godox TL60 AC Power Adapter BH #GOTL60PWRADP • MFR #TL60 POWER ADAPTER https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1611959-REG/godox_tl60_power_adapter.html 2-Watson AC Power Cable with IEC-C7 Connector BH #WAPCIECC7 • MFR #PC-IECC7 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/843915-REG/watson_pc_iecc7_ice_c7_ac_power.html

Q: 10. Are the XLR Outputs -10 or +4?

A: Maximum output level: +14.5 dBu Output impedance: 100 Ω

[Single Mode] Cable worked as expected. We use it for our field camera on football game days. We can move all over the field without a signal drop.

[12x LC Male] I had to drill large holes in the very center of the plate to allow for easy in/out of the short end of the cable. After that these reels worked great. Totally worth the price and the headache relief of under/over cable wrapping until your arms fall off.

I started with 1 and bought 5 more recently.

[Single Mode] While I wasn't a fan of the cost at first, this is certainly a product where we are getting what we paid for. Cars and trucks of all sizes run over these cables all the time while we are trying to set things up, and after a year, the cables still look new- no signs of damage or even wear. They have sat outside for over a month at a time, in the rain and snow (minus the ends), and they just work great.

[Single Mode] I wrapped a 250ft Outdoor POE CAT6 Network Cable on this reel and it really works well. Not the most durable reel I have ever used but for a network cable it's just what I needed.
