The Korg nanoKEY Studio Mobile MIDI Keyboardfrom Korg nanoKEY Studio Mobile MIDI Keyboardis a lightweight and portable mini-keyboard controller with twenty-five keys, knobs, trigger pads, and a touch pad that allow instant realization of ideas into sound. Battery operated or USB bus powered, the controller can connect wirelessly to an iPhone or iPad, or additionally via USB to a Mac or Windows computer.

The velocity-sensitive keys allow for easy step-recording and the Scale Guide function illuminates the keys to show recommended notes in the scale, making it even easier to play. An Easy Scale function generates musical phrases using any of the keys. The eight velocity-sensitive trigger pads can convey every dynamic nuance of a drum performance. In chord-playing mode, the Chord Scale function automatically assigns the best chords for the key and scale selected. The pads can also be assigned to trigger audio clips.

Single finger control of synthesizers or plug-in effects is available using the built-in KAOSS-inspired touch pad. The controller also features an arpeggiator with rhythm patterns for generating a succession of new phrases simply by touching the pad. Similarly, eight knobs provide control of software synthesizers, plug-in effects, or a DAW mixer. A comprehensive selection of music software is available for all supported platforms.

Q: 2. Can this handle a low gain sensitive mic like EV RE20..without cloud lifter ?

[1.485 lb] Just what I needed for my mixpre-10, wish it had meters as well.

[1.485 lb] With loads of individual controls this controller has lots of scope, with standard Korg mediocre build quality. Having only owned it for a short time I can't speak to the durability but I've put ti through alot in a month as it's still working well.

I was not able to get the Bluetooth functionality working (something to do with 64bit bluetooth, but I have other bluetooth controllers I'm not willing to possibly lose to get this functionality).

[1.485 lb] Needed to move to a full sized keyboard for studio midi work only. Got this recommendation from the folks at B and H and it is truly like playing a regular piano.

[1.485 lb] I love this panel. The design and layout of the controls is sensibly straightforward and easy to get the hang of, and the jog wheel is a huge benefit. If you're using it with Pro Tools, Logic Pro or any other DAW, for the price point this is a terrific way to get hands on control and speed up your workflow.

If you're a video editor don't get your hopes up; at the moment I haven't been able to get it to work with Resolve or Premiere Pro on my Mac running OS Catalina 10.15.5, but PC users may have more luck. I mainly intended to use it for audio work though, so this wasn't a dealbreaker for me.

Overall very happy with this.

[1.485 lb] I love the feel of the keys. Just like what I remember from my piano (still on the mainland, built in 1900, we have no room for it here).

I've only just started exploring its use with my Linux-based software, so I can only state that having the full 88 keys back is WONDERFUL after decades of only 61 keys. A big part of the joy of piano is it covers the entire scale.

Aftertouch works.

I haven't done anything with the three joystick controls.

When I first set it up, I didn't have a USB-A to USB-B cable, so I tried using my MIDI interface, but wasn't able to make that work. I have a history of being flummoxed by old-style MIDI cables, so I may simply have connected it up wrong.

Then I found an appropriate USB cable, plugged it in, and things just worked.

I like the keyboard. I like the fact that it's not loaded up with arranger software, instruments in ROM, or tied to proprietary Windows/MacOS-only applications.

I look forward to playing it a lot!

[1.485 lb] I bought at B&H a M-AUDIO 32 minikeys, Irig 37 minikeys and Axiom 32 minikeys. Why? Because I'm a PRO and need every day a small keyboard on the backpack to make music on the road (actually, on the plane). Well, I could talk about what is good/bad in each on this little keyboards BUT after tried ALL them (a lot of times) I discovered the 37 AIR Korg. I am very happy with the keyboard touch (velocity response) and the keyboard size. It's all about the Korg - it fells like a PRO keyboard in a mini shape :)

[1.485 lb] great controller and super easy to setup. Another big-hit for Korg! The best thing: comes loaded with very decent music software that you turn your computer into a dream synthesizer machine. Latency is almost 0% and definitely a must to have in your studio.

[1.485 lb] The Korg nanoKontrol Studio is one of the USB MIDI keyboards certified for use with a Sound Device MixPre 10ii recorder. It connects to the USB-C port of the MixPre, and is automatically recognized and configured. The faders and start/stop controls are marked and permanently configured, as are the record and mute buttons. The dials control the trim, low cut frequency and pan settings, depending on the selected scene. It's all very straight-forward for real time control, superior in every way to the tiny knobs and endless menus of the MixPre.

[1.485 lb] I replaced my Casio PX-160 digital piano for this StudioLogic SL88 Studio MIDI keyboard controller.
I really like the Casio PX-160 key action, however, this StudioLogic key bed with its touch action is a fine replacement to keep my fingers physically fit.
This keyboard in conjunction with the lighter action Novation Launchkey 88 Mk3 MIDI keyboard makes a fine pair for alternating between touch and light action.
This StudioLogic key bed is Fatar TP/100LR, a highly regarded and affordable key bed.
Also this keyboard controller is Made in Italy.
I am quite content with this purchase.
