Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I trigger video recording with this controller?

A: Found this on Nikon UK website Nikons WR-R10 wireless transceiver and WR-T10 wireless transmitter let you control key camera functions from a distance, even if there are objects between yourself and the camera. Compatible with specific Nikon D-SLRs, these devices allow control of autofocus, video recording, continuous shooting and silent shooting, as well as of a feature allocated to the function button .

Q: 2. is this remote compatible with a Nikon D800 if not what remote is? Thanks

A: You can use the WR-T10 with the D800. You would want to get the Nikon WR-R10/WR-T10/WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter Set (B&H # NIWR10). This kit comes with the WR-R10 receiver and the WR-A10 adapter you would need to connect the receiver to the D800s 10-pin accessory port.

Q: 3. Do I need a receiver for this transceiver to work with the metz 52 af-1 flash?

A: Yes you do.

Q: 4. Will this unit work with the Sony flashes such as F43M?

A: If you do a search for WT-1 for Sony you will see that Metz makes a unit for Sony. I shoot with Canon. Im not familiar with Sony cameras. I imagine you could give Metz a call to make sure its compatible with your camera.

Q: 5. Have a Sony HVL60 Flash. Would like to make this flash totally wireless without purchasing the HVL60-FM wireless unit. Will both units work with a Sony RX10M4 camera?

A: You would need a minimum of two WT-1T units: one for the camera and one for the HVL-F60M flash. It is possible that is can work on the RX10 Mark IV, but it has not been tested to our knowledge.

Q: 6. Is this remote control valid for a Nikon Coolpix P7700?. thank you.

A: Unfortunately, the Nikon WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller Transmitter is not compatible with the Nikon Coolpix P7700 Digital Camera. The Nikon ML-L3 Wireless Remote Control (Infrared), B&H # NIMLL3, would be the correct remote for use with the Nikon Coolpix P7700 Digital Camera.

Q: 7. Compatible with Z6

A: Hi--this remote is compatible with the Z6 camera.

Q: 8. Which Sony camera shoe is this compatible with old A's or newer MIS as on A7. If the latter, can I then use a HVL 42AM (old style) on top of the transceiver?

A: The Metz WT-1T Wireless Transceiver for Sony, B&H # MEMZWT1TS, listed above uses the Sony Multi-Interface hot shoe both on the bottom and top hot shoe. If you wish to use the WT-1T on an older Sony Alpha camera that uses the (now discontinued) Minolta Auto-Lock hot shoe design, you may purchase the Sony Auto-Lock Shoe Adapter, B&H # SOADPAMA, to connect the Metz WT-1T to your camera. If you wish to connect an older Auto-Lock hot shoe flash such as the Sony HVL-F42AM Digital Camera Flash to either the WT-1T or the WT-1R, you would need to purchase the Sony Multi Interface Shoe Adapter, B&H # SOADPMAA, for your usage needs.

Q: 9. Can the WT-1T be used as a Receiver?

A: Yes. The following unit is a combination Transmitter and Receiver.

Q: 10. Again, does this unit work with non-Metz, specifically Sony flashes when the WT-iT is mounted on a Sony A6XXX series camera??

A: You can mount a Sony flash on a transceiver or receiver.

[5180-5320 MHz] Saw previous reviews where people were saying they had issues with it. I have an old wireless router that I setup (don't connect this to the internet) and use this to route pix from my D5 to my laptop. I previously used the tethered setup and that worked fine and I've done limited tests. I have a couple of larger events in the upcoming weeks where I will be using this but so far so good.

[5180-5320 MHz] I used to have the wt-4, I like it but had a beef with it, the wire on a wireless connection so when i got the d-4 I plunge right away for the wt-5 and man it was the right thing to do. No more cables, no more different chargers and different batteries to lug around and a very reliable connection. the only problem is battery life so i got 5 batteries to get me through the day. This is how I have it set. On location I use ad-hoc connection to my iPad running shutter snitch I set up the camera to shoot raw + small jpgs fine and tell it to send only the jpgs so my clients can review and approve on the spot. On the studio I connect to my wireless network and do the same thing. One thing that has amazing me is that I have being using wireless transfers since the d2x came out sending pictures to my computer or my laptop. But since I replace the laptop with the iPad the WOW factor from my clients has exploded they are always asking how do you do that

[7 x 6.9 x 3.1"] I love this little transmitter. Would rather that Nikon included WiFi on the D4 as this adds another gizmo attached to the camera, but that is another story. Consumes a lot of battery power, but I carry 4 spares so I have juice to spare. Because of it's design it would not survive a fall that the camera would otherwise not have a problem with.
