Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the recommended ICC profile for an Epson P900 printer. I'd like to use the Pro Platinum Glossy paper?

A: The Canon Pro Platinum Photo Paper, when used in the Epson P900, should be set to Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, but you would probably see better results using an Epson paper or creating your own customer paper profile of the Canon paper.

Q: 2. Why is the size of the box smaller than the paper?

A: I haven't had a problem with the box/package size. I've ordered this paper several times and everything has been fine.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the new Pro-200?

A: Yes it is compatible with the Canon Pro-200.

Q: 4. double sided ?

A: This paper is not double sided. Can only print on the smooth side.

Q: 5. How about PIXMA PRO-100?

A: Yes the Canon Pro Platinum Photo Paper is compatible with the Canon PIXMA PRO-100.

Q: 6. Can I use this paper for the pro-100?

A: Yes, definitely a great paper for this printer.

Q: 7. Is the Pro Platinum paper compatible with the Canon Pixma Pro-10 with the longevity of the prints?

A: I have a Pixma Pro-10 and have no problem using Pro Platinum 4x6 paper. Colors are great, but I can't say what they will be like 5, 10 or 20 years from now.

Q: 8. Does this paper contain OBAs (optical brightening agents)?

A: I don't think so,it's pretty dull and soaks up the ink

Q: 9. Since it has a matte finish, I'm supposed to use matte black ink. What will happen if I use gloss black?

A: If you print with photo black on the print, the ink will not stick properly and it will be a mess. The black will also not look correct. The printer does not recognize the paper loaded into it so you must select the correct profile.

Q: 10. I have a Pro-100 printer. I don't see that listed on the approved printers for this paper but I do notice several reviewers saying they use it with this model printer.Comments please.Sam

A: The paper is approved for the Pro-100 printer as well. Our web write-up was done prior to that printer being released.

[42 gsm] There is little doubt that using washi is for many a new experience. In general, prints rendered on washi have less contrast and saturation then prints produced on Western digital papers. Nevertheless, the subtleties of tone and color produced in prints on washi reveal nuances that heretofore might not be appreciated. Kozo has a unique surface structure and a subtle hand that reinforce the hand-made nature of washi. Gone is the gob smacked in your face HDR effect of prints on some Western papers and revealed is an artistic print that becomes addicting. Once digital printing artists use Awagami washi it is difficult to use anything else.

[Kozo] A great paper, not only for photos bur also for printmaking and collage. Love the fact I can put it in my printer so any type of image can be used and then the paper image can be used in another application. The whole line of Awagami papers is fun to explore! Customer service at their website can also answer technical questions which is very helpful for artists!

[Kozo] Recently others have discovered the additional creative options available for fine art printers. The range of Awagami washi presents additional choices with which to render images in a way that is simply not possible when using more prosaic printing papers. Highly recommend trying this paper and others from Awagami. The trial pack is a great way to get started.

[20x Sheet Paper] Great paper for a lot of paper crafts. Inkjet print great on it. You will see the paper comes a bit larger than the 8x11 but I just cut off the extra by aligning up an 8x11 on it.

[0.39 lb] I just finished printing a portfolio with this paper using an Epson P800 printer. I'm delighted by the results. This is a lightly-textured, matte, Japanese Washi paper. It fed through the printer without problem. Awagami's downloadable ICC profile worked well, although the generic Epson matte paper profile did to. There was some softening of image contrast and color saturation as you'd expect, so don't think of this as a general-purpose paper. For me it worked better with images that didn't have lots of dark areas. This paper is also rather delicate. You have to match the right image to it for it to really make sense, especially given its price. But if you want a paper with a certain tactile quality, this is a beautiful choice.

[42 gsm] I am so pleased with how well this paper is working for me. And the ICC profiles for my P900 are surprisingly good (surprising to me at any rate). Now…if I can sell the prints…

[Matte] I love this paper. I'm an artist, focused on geometric pattern, mostly printed on Japanese papers the last few years. Inbe Thin is indeed very thin and delicate. It has a beautiful subtle texture.
