The Sensei PRO Brass Step-Up Ring 52-58mmpermits the use of 58mm threaded filters on lenses with 52mm filter threads. It features brass construction and is coated with a matte black finish to minimize reflections. Brass offers enhanced durability and resistance to warping over conventional aluminum rings and is also less prone to jamming or binding to additional step-up rings, filters, or lenses. This step-up ring has large side knurlings to provide a more textured grip when mounting or removing it from a lens.

[4 mm] I use these to step up from adapted Nikkor AIs lenses for cinematography. I use this in combination with a Sensei Pro 67mm lens hood which brings it up to 77mm filter thread and 80mm outside diameter. The Sensei brass step-up rings are really high quality, no comparison to various aluminum rings, and most cost-effective than the Heliopan. 5

[0.12 lb] Besides fulfilling its basic function, I like the feel and grip-ability of a brass step-up ring. Easy to snug down without fear of over tightening. I use it with the Canon 500D Close-up lens on my 70-200 mm f4 lens and it does the job. 5

[0.12 lb] I use this to extend the utility of my 77 mm filters. 77 mm is the typical diameter for bundled lenses. The more specialized primary lenses require other sizes. This adapter allows you to exchange your filter use and also reduces the opportunity for vignetting because of the larger size filter. 5

[Side] This is a well-machined ring. The quality is obvious. The grooved surface certainly helps with the removal of the ring. I was a little bit apprehensive by the price, but, upon attaching it to my lens and filter, I concluded it is the best choice. I currently use it with my Nikon 180mmm AFD, a Nikon 77mm polarizing filter (1 Gen.) and the Nikon HN29 hood. The entire set up plus rear lens cap and a Tamron 86mm snap-on lens cap (for the HN29) fits perfectly into a LowePro LC2 lens case. 5

[52 mm to 58 mm] Recently purchased a Nikkor 50 mm 1.4 lens. The filter size is 58 mm. I read a tip that suggested using a step-up ring to allow use of 77 mm filters which is the size of my other glass. This saves on buying multiple size filters (UV, CPL, ND, etc.) The Sensei step up ring works very well with my current 77 mm B&W filters. 5
