[1.5" (3.8 cm)] Good quality, as you would expect from RAM. Compared with normal RAM balls the tough-ball series have a number of advantages; the hex nut section allows it to be tightened down better, the ball finish is much nicer, allowing for smoother movements in the sockets, the general build quality is better. A quick note on the picture. RAM does not bother to take photos that accurately depict the length of the threaded post. This is true for this particular product, but the length listed in the product description seems to be accurate. 5

[1.5" (3.8 cm)] When gripped with a ram mount clamp, these ram mounts hold a lot of weight without sag. I use them to mount a monitor on my camera. I did find that the aluminum threads do wear out over time. 5

[2.4 oz (68.0 g)] I luv RAM products. Other people said there were not enough threads so I was hesitant to buy....but there were PLENTY of threads for a secure connection. You can see us using the product in our videos at MrRuminate (no spaces, no punctuation) on YouTube. 5
