Portabrace Armored Light Case For Heavy Kits 50"

$1,683.06 $2,221.64

The armored light case is a padded carrying case and backpack with a lightweight armored interior shell. The case is very rugged and can be used for everyday field work or extensive travel and shipping as an alternative to heavy hard shell ABS plastic cases. Fold-away backpack straps keep your hands free and make it more comfortable to carry heavy light kits. The ALC is ideal for carrying multiple light heads such as Arrilite 575+, 700+, and 2000+, stands and accessories.
There is a single heavy-duty YKK zipper that runs the length of the case to make accessing your light kit quick and easy. A Cordura zipper guard extends the life of the zipper and helps keep rain or water from getting in to the case. Inside there are four hanging padded pouches to provide extra protection for the lights during transport. Four padded dividers are included to separate and organize the light heads and accessories. Comfortable suede handles are supplied for carrying and an extra set of suede handles are attached on the sides of the case for lifting heavy loads in and out of vehicles.

[Zipper] The Luxli case is the perfect compliment for your Luxli LED Lights! I have two Fiddles, a diffuser, and a Honeycomb diffuser and they fit beautifully and securely in this case. The case is well built and solid. It can hold, mounts, cables, plugs, modifiers and so much more. The fact that it fits 3 Fiddles and I only have 2 is making me want to get another. I highly recommend this product! [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[Handle] very sturdy without adding too much weight. using this with the huge Gitzo and Arca head. nice to have some pockets for accessories.

[Handle] This bag is way bulkier than I expected, which is on me for not reading the specs in more detail. I wish Portabrace made a model half as wide on the bottom, but at the same length and height, as at this size it's quite uncomfortable and unwieldy to carry on public transit or while walking if full, both with the weight and bulk, and that's using all aluminum and carbon fiber gear. Even after trying a few strap orientations and lengths, it still sits uncomfortably on my side due to the wide flat bottom (can't put it across my back because I'm using a camera backpack to haul the rest of my gear). I just think this thing holds more gear than an average person should safely carry with a strap more than, say, half a mile, which is not ideal for an urban videographer, unless you spend your free time as a bodybuilder.

If I were buying again, I would get one of their models with wheels, or maybe the 35 which appears to be less tall too, but not narrower. Most of the time I leave this stationary as gear storage at home and for gigs just use several smaller, narrower bags, distributed evenly across my shoulders.

Positives, the build quality is superb, everything seems very well reinforced and put together. The inner straps for holding gear down are brilliant. The thicker outer pocket is brilliant for sticking mic cables (easily fits a dozen). The padded carrying strap, while a bit hard to figure out the optimal connections at first, is quite effective at not being painful even with a heavy load. People saying they use these bags for their entire career makes total sense to me, and I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of this... just not at full capacity.

[Zipper] All PortaBrace products that I own have been incredible. I especially love this bag. The doctor bag style opening is much better that other tripod bags and cases I have used. Also the build quality is superb. Highly recommend.

[Yes] I have three of these bags in varying length, however the 35 is my go to bag, and has been for 15years. Endless international travel to some of the nastiest places in Africa, flying with the most dubious of carriers, and the PortaBrace TLQ35 is still in one piece and still working.

I carry a Gitzo systematic series 3 tripod & head, two manfrotto stacker stands, and a few umbrellas, grips etc. The bag itself weighs in at 2,3kgs and packed it is around 12kgs.

I can't recommend this bag enough, and only the blue one...! I would pay twice the asking amount for a new one.

[Black] The first thing you will notice is how sturdy and well built this case is. I always look at how the zipper is stitched to see if this product will last and I've got to say this case was built to take a beating and still perform as expected. It easily and snugly fits my 2 Fiddles one with a Honeycomb Grid and the other with a soft box. It has plenty of space for cables, tripod/stand mounts and modifiers. This is a great product and I highly recommend for all Fiddle owners.

[Handle] Bought one today, easily fits 2 Kupo Midi Click stands, Godox AD-S85, AD-S60, 2 x AD-300 Pro and much more!

Very comfy strap, heavy duty bag but the only downside is the bag is rather heavy and when full loaded, would break my back.

[Zipper] If you own a Luxli Cello this case is an absolute must! I've used this case to store my luxli light kit and it's been a fantastic! Before I used this case I had the 3 lights in a case that used Pick 'N Pluck foam which did not last long and was much heavier. This case is lightweight and the foam in this case is cut to fit up to three lights perfectly + diffusers and other accessories. The case comes with a shoulder strap but I've usually carried it by hand. For the price, using this case is a no brainer! Highly recommended!

[Zipper] As you would expect at this price-point - this is a very nicely-made bag using quality materials and zippers - consistent with other PortaBrace bags I have had in the past. It has decent padding and it looks great. I also love all of the extra interior and exterior pockets. It was literally made to order, signed by the seamstress, and drop-shipped promptly.

I use it to carry a fully-assembled Grace stereo mic-bar with 8 mic mounts on it. The extra pockets carry the microphone cases, cables, ties, Gaff tape and accessories. My only minor complaint is that the internal velcro strap does not adjust small-enough to secure the bar, but I can modify that. Understandably, it was designed to hold light-stands, not mic bars. I am very happy with the bag.

[Handle] Like every other PortBrace case I own, this is not a bag or a case, it is a fortress. Their stuff is so strong, padded, well sized. You know your gear will last. I do have one observation... the handles are in the middle, and with a tripod, the weight is down by the head. It means when carrying over the shoulder with the strap and head down, it is perfect. When picking it up by the handles, it wants to point at the ground. I wish the handles were offset even 6 inches or so.
