Q: 10. Would this be able to take Canon XF200 with gun mic attached, plus a 15 Macbook Pro, AND be carry-on for flights? (Yes I de-mount mics and batts for transit, but want the one working bag...) Thanks

A: You can actually fit (quite snugly) a 15 Macbook Pro laptop in the side pocket, it just takes a bit of finesse. I regularly travel with a 13 Macbook Pro and a Panasonic AC-160 camera around the US. It won't fit under your seat because it is too long. You have to cram it in the overhead bin if your in a smaller domestic plane, but I've never had to check my bag. There are also two rigid foam slats that hold the bag upright. In a pinch I was able to take these out and fit 2 AC-160s back to back in the main compartment. But I couldn't fit a laptop in them at the same time. But to answer your question, I am right now able to test with my work 15 Macbook Pro and it will fit in the side. I used to use a generic bag that would actually fit under my seat, but it wasn't protecting my camera as much. I like this new bag and it is very sturdy, and it doesn't hurt my shoulder when carrying long distances like my old bag did.Best,Lane Wyrick

[3.7 lb] This case fits my Sony FX30 camera with 18-105mm PZ lens attached perfectly. I still have room for a few spare batteries and a few other accessories too. Like with all Portabrace products, this case is extremely well made and will sure to last a very long time, and it's made in the USA, you just can't beat that.

[Zipper] Awesome product, horrible customer service. The bag works great, fits my camera perfectly and room for a few accessories without over packing the bag. But if you might need customer service, don't expect it from BNH, buy elsewhere.

[Canon XA35] This PortaBrace Soft-Sided Camera Case does hold a Sony FX6 with 24-105 kit lens, handle and side grip attached. You'll need to remove the LCD that comes with the FX6 (takes 5 seconds).

Inside the main compartment, there's additional space for lenses--not anything in the typical 70-200 range.

I have batteries and other items in the side pockets.

While the bag is described as soft-sided, it's not really soft--it's more than hard enough to protect the camera.

[Black] I have been working in the AV industry for 30 years and we have PORTA BRACE products that date back to when I was hired. These bags are a lifetime investment. Whatever bag/cover you purchase from PORTA BRACE will be the last one you'll ever have to purchase.

[3.7 lb] This is my second Portabrace bag I own. I like that it is specifically made for the Canon XF200/205, although I'm sure it would accommodate other cameras of this size. One of the main selling points for me beides the excellent craftsmanship Portabrace is known for, is that it allows me to keep my shotgun mic attached while in the bag, no need to take it off. I have test fitted it with the Rode Ntg1 and the AT-875R and both fit perfectly. I really can't find any negatives with this bag. If I had to be picky, I wish the shoulder strap came with the tan suede like my other Portabrace bag for my Panasonic Ac160a. I'm guessing they did this to keep the price low. I got this on sale for $ ! That's a steal for a Portabrace bag of this size. Thanks again B&H!

[Zipper] Really nice, high quality bag. It feels durable, while being lightweight, so that's a good mix. I carry a Sony FS700 and a bunch of accessories in here. You've got room for a couple lenses as well as batteries, chargers, a shotgun mic, and the likes. Perfect size for an FS700 really. Also, the bag comes with a couple dividers, which are super helpful for organization!

[3.7 lb] Very happy with this case for my 5dmkii kit. It expands to include everything I need for a small shoot including various bits of audio gear. If you're looking for slim, look elsewhere. Porta Brace makes a solid, industrial quality bag that can withstand daily use. No mistake it's the film community's go-to for soft cases.

[Black] Love the case, and how protective it is on the outside. While we normally go with a hard case, this is pretty protective. Side pockets were spacious enough to fit necessary accessories (two Sony batteries, Tilta dovetail plate, white card, Sony monitoring headphones). You probably will want to grab some microfiber clothes to cushion the inside, as it is very spacious horizontally.

If you go with an accessory cage, you won't have any room vertically in the main section, as the cage causes the camera to sit against the very top of the camera case. This will require some careful maneuvering of your LCD viewfinder; you will also want to make sure no pressure is on the top of your camera case as well.
