Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are the stands available individually? We have one that was destroyed...

A: Unfortunately, the specific stands offered in this kit are not available on their own.

Q: 2. How easily does the crossbar hold rolls of seamless paper? Do you have to remove the crossbar knobs to fit it in the paper tube?

A: Pretty easy, just remove one locking knob.

Q: 3. How much weight does this stand hold? Also, is the cross bar heavy duty?

A: The crossbar on this pro version is rated for 38 pounds.

Q: 4. How do you get a seamless backdrop off once it's on? This is so silly, but I put one on when I first got this and cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it off.

A: Lift the crossbar off one side and then pull the background off.

Q: 5. What would be the benefit with the pro backdrop support kit? Would the non-pro be more beneficial for portable use vs studio use?

A: I own the pro version and the main difference is the weight it can hold on the crossbar. The non pro version is only rated for 20 pounds where the pro version is rated for 38 pounds. I have the 140x105 paper backdrop and could not imagine the non pro version being able to hold it. My thought is that if you are investing in something that you need to be over 12ft wide then I would get the higher weight rating.

Q: 6. Can I buy this crossbar without the kit(stands)?

A: Impact does not sell it separately. You can get a 12' telescopic from Photoflex https://bhpho.to/2xqyFOE.

Q: 7. In the carrying case, how long is the total package? I'm trying to figure out how much space I need for the whole package, unassembled, in the case.

A: Top to bottom of the case = 60 It's plenty of room for the light stands and some.

Q: 8. What’s the maximum weight for this?

A: The maximum supported weight is 38 lb.

Q: 9. How do you think this backdrop will do if kept outside in the rain? I will use mine only outdoors and it is convenient for me to just leave it set up there with heavy sandbags. But if it will get ruined quickly, I'll just have to bring it in. Thanks.

A: Since I have not left my back drop out side, through all types of weather, I can not answer your question truthfully. I have looked over the two tripods and the cross bar and I think the enamel coating would be safe from rust from rain and snow - I think, but I can not say for sure. The possible concern for rust would be the threads of the screws for the tripod sections and the holders at each end of the cross bar. I can not tell if they are galvanized, or resistant to moisture. If you are concerned for possible rust, you could possibly wrap electrical tape around the exposed threads. This would probably not be so easy to do on the screws that secure the cross bar. Just my opinion, no guarantees. The construction of the back drop is sturdy and well made.

Q: 10. Are the stands air cushioned and spring loaded?

A: These are not spring load or air cushioned.

[20.8 lb] Best backdrop frame I've used. Extra money is well worth the difference, the telescoping pole doesn't bend like the cheaper snap together supports I've used in the past, and super easy to customize the width for different paper rolls or fabric. Everything I've bought Impact I've been super happy with.

[59.8 x 13 x 6"] So easy to use and very fast to take up and down. I had 2 cheap backdrop supports with the support poles needing to be connected. Don't skimp. I am planning on buying more of these. This made my first shoot with it using a very heavy Gravity backdrop an absolute breeze. Very highly recommended.

[20.8 lb] Im a full time pro photographer out of Baltimore and these have become the only background stands that last under the day to day abuse we put them through here at my studio. We may change the background 5-8 times in a single day using the 9 foot savage rolls and occasionally the 12 foot wide savage papers. I tried the cheaper background supports way back in the day and we crushed the stands in a matter of months. These stands here have last almost 6 years now and finally the insert screw in 2 of the sections no longer hold the riser tight. That's way longer than I thought they would last. The stands are much thicker than the impact or savage background stands and the cross bar is super solid, adjustable in length and does not bow under weight. An absolute pro level background support that can take a beating. Highly recommended!

[20.8 lb] I wouldn't want to use it outside extended up to 12' but in the studio it's perfect. The stands are light and easy to set up, I've only used 107 paper with it and it holds it perfectly. For the money it's a fantastic kit...
