[164 ft (50 m)] I use this on a normal height tripod where I dont need an on/off button for the camera.  I use others when Ive got the camera on a 20 tripod and need that additional control.

�Let me say! Having all the menu functions on the controller is really smart. Cameras, like the HXR NX80, and PXW Z90, will greatly ease the lack of easy access, to functions like the Menu button at the front of the camera. A great asset when mounted on a tripod, which is it's use. The new cameras, have full control with this one remote.�

�Those with a Sony HXR NX100, will love it. Not having to reach to the top of the camera, to use the function menu, with those small not very tactile buttons will make it a breeze. The NX100 you don't have total control of the camera, but having access to menu system from the remote makes using this camera so much better, and it's a great camera. You can not, adjust the Gain, and the Shutter from the remote with the NX100 all other controls work. You can make it Auto and Locked, but no adjust for those two functions. Look over the Compatibility chart.

The remote is big, and stated not dust proof or water proof. At this expense why not? It's a superb remote. Lights are missing on most remotes. This lights up letting you know it's recording, letting you know which camera is being adjusted and more..

[164 ft (50 m)] I use this product with the Sony AX100 camcorder. It has smooth T/W functions. I can adjust speeds with touching on the rocker with light pressure or hard. We use three of these on our cameras.

[164 ft (50 m)] Im using this on a Fujinon Cabrio 20-120 PL lens and it works great. Interesting thing is that the Acebil box says its made in Japan (not China), yet its less than half the price of the equivalent Fujinon unit. Im curious if its just a rebranded Fujinon part?

[9.9 oz (281 g)] Sony RM 30BP is a tool that allows one person to control many cameras. Many of Sony's camera work perfect with the remote, some will have full control of the camera. The ability to change setting in camera with this controller is a must when your in a rush. Using in a multiple camera setup with one remote is not ideal. Multiple camera and multiple remotes is ideal.
The downside is cost and Sony needs to address the issue of the remotes being slightly defective. When zooming out slowly, sometime the remote will continue to zoom out unless assisted to stop. Bad for such a high priced remote control. Plus it would of been great if the buttons were backlit, making changes a dark room is really challenging.
I have 2 remotes looking to add 2 more, but have had bad luck with finding good ones, without the defect as described above. All the ones bought from B&H have been good. Other sellers not so. B&H the greatest..
