The CDP9800 98" Ultra HD Commercial Display from ViewSonic is a professional-grade commercial IPS display with 3840x2160 Ultra HD resolution and 500 nits brightness for detailed images suitable for conference rooms, retail applications, and control rooms. With integrated DisplayPort, and flexible portrait and landscape mounting options, up to four of these displays can be daisy-chained for a stunning 2x2 video wall configuration. In addition to dual 10W speakers and versatile connectivity options, including HDMI, DVI, VGA, YPbPr, and CVBS, the display comes with simple and convenient USB multimedia playback functionality. The display is integrated with an industry-standard OPS slot and offers seamless connectivity with external PCs and media players. Q: 4. Since this looks to just be a display device and nothing special, any reason it wouldn't work as a second monitor for a laptop running Linux?

A: I believe it would work depending on the Linux distro and also the user's linux skills. The manufacturer lists it's compatibility only for MAC and PC. COMPATIBILITY PC RESOLUTION (MAX):1920 X 1080; - MAC® RESOLUTION (MAX) 1920 X 1080

Q: 5. Does this product work with an external media player? Question asked before but not adequately answered.

A: Yes, the ViewSonic VA1655 15.6" 16:9 Portable IPS Monitor can be used with a external media player through Mini-HDMI or USB-C. If the media player you're using supports USB-C connectivity, then you could use USB-C, otherwise it features a Mini-HDMI port.

Q: 6. How does the color and quality compare to a MacBook Pro screen? I'd like to use it as a secondary screen for video editing while on the road.

A: This monitor has 6bit+FRC for 16.7m colors. It does not have the color capabilities of a MacBook Pro screen.

A: The hand sanitizer can be removed form the diplay screen.

Q: 10. Any ideas on how to use this as a wireless viewer from my MacBook Pro? Would love to be able to hand this to a client so they aren't hovering over the laptop while I shoot tethered.

A: The problem is that most wireless HDMI kits for sending signal wirelessly require a secondary source of power. A second workaround might just be a right angled USB-C connection so the customer can view with some distance.

[2 x 2] I'm not very tech savvy , but I get by. I had no trouble at all assembling the stand to the base and the monitor to the stand. No tools required, it all just snaps/clicks together. This monitor is bright and sharp for both text on the screen and photos or browser windows. Not one broken pixel. Everything is perfect right out of the box. I had to provide an HDMI cable, which was not included. Adjustments for height and viewing angles are very flexible and easy and it makes it really quick to get comfortable in front of this monitor and be productive without a lot of fuss. Speakers built in are weak and tinny, but I use external speakers, so this was not a deal breaker. Don't expect great sound from this otherwise terrific monitor. Overall I think this screen is the perfect size for home use, superbly featured and priced with great value for all it has to offer. I know I will get years of crisp, clear images and easy adjustment with my VG 2248. 5

[Yes, 2x 10 W] Needed a second screen for working from home. Wanted height and tilt adjustability. This didn’t look glamorous, but fit the need. What a nice surprise to open it and find it far more attractive than the picture. Plus a sturdy metal base, easily adjusted. Great value. 5
