Covering wide-angle to medium telephoto perspectives, this versatile 28-105mm zoom offers a convenient option for full-frame K-mount Pentax DSLRs and is also compatible with APS-C models, where it will provide a 43-161mm equivalent focal length range.

Variable f/3.5-5.6 maximum aperture ensures a compact size while offering a wide range of versatile focal lengths.

ED glass elements are featured in the lens design and help to control chromatic aberrations and reduce color fringing for increased clarity and color fidelity.

The High Definition (HD) multi-layer coating is utilized to reduce reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color in more trying lighting conditions.

Super Protect coating will help keep the optics safe in the event of accidental impact or if it comes in contact with water or dust.

Supersonic Direct-Drive Motor (SDM) ensures fast, quiet, and smoother autofocus operation.

A rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when employing shallow depth of field techniques. It is completely rounded between f/3.5-6.3 when at 28mm and between f/5.6-10 when at 105mm.

A weather-resistant design features eight seals which better permit working in inclement conditions.

Includes PH-RBS62 lens hood to limit flare from light sources.

Optional S-80-120 Soft Lens Case is available to protect lens during transport or storage.

A: I have never used the Nikkor lens, but I use the 28-105 on my k1 about 75% of the time, with great results. Definitely recommend

Q: 10. Can you please tell me why on all the other Pentax lenses the Hoya Alpha MC UV filter is recommended and this lens the Hoya UV Haze NXT HMC filter is recommended?

A: I use a regular UV filter on every lenses I own. It works fine. The only time I change that filter is if I need a special filter to do something star, color enhancing, polarizer . The primary reason I even use a UV filter 90% of the time is to protect my lens from dirt and damage. It is cheaper to purchase a new UV filter than to replace an $800.00 lens.

[f/22 to 32] Just used it with K3 on a fall colour road trip. Extremely happy with it. Quiet and quick focusing. Very sharp pictures. No problem when I used it while it was drizzling. Will definitely replace my Sigma 17-50 F2.8 EX DC.

[6.05 x 4 x 3.9"] The optical quality and build of the HD Pentax-D FA 28-105mm lens is much better than the modest price would indicate, making it a very good value. While similar focal range, faster lenses are available, I prefer this lens for general use due to the compact size and lighter weight.

[Full-Frame] I have a Pentax K-1ii and this lens works quite well with that camera. I've only had it for a week or so, but so far, the pictures look good and sharp. As for working with the K-1ii, this lens is a great primary lens. I'll make another review after I take a few more pictures.

[Full-Frame] I use this lens for anything and everything it will handle. Now that I have had a chance to use this lens, it is sharp, quick and accurate. I rarely shoot in auto anything, but when I do it performs.

[f/3.5 to 5.6] This is a fine lens, and really a no-brainer for Pentax FF users at its price point. I don't use it so much anymore because I got great deals here at B&H on the 24-70 and the 15-30, but really this lens is handier and so much lighter/smaller than the 24-70, and equally sharp or sharper. The extra reach is especially useful. Great walk around lens, and it's WR. That it's slower mostly isn't a problem on the Pentax cameras with their excellent high iso performance.

[f/22 to 32] I am very happy with this lens. I use it as a walk-around and when I have to work fast (e.g. photographing events). The image quality overall is really good; getting close to what I get with primes. The colors, contrast and lack of flare are particularly good. Sharpness is high at the wide end and, and very good at the tele end. The lens is a bit large and heavy, and the zoom is stiff (but definitely does not creep). The AF works great and is nearly silent. The bokeh is pretty. It's water resistant and solid (no wobble whatsoever). It's a steal at $500.

[62 mm (Front)] I prefer high-quality primes lenses for most of my work but there are good reasons to keep a zoom lens such as this around. Of all the zoom lenses I’ve used with similar ranges (some priced several times higher that this one) , this lens really stands out and impresses me. It exceeded my expectations based on its specifications and price. Highly recommended!
