Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can 2 Kwik Rails be combined, safely, to lengthen the Kwik Rail Legs? Would any additional bracing be required to minimize Leg flex?

A: Such a combination has not been tested by Kessler or B&H and thus this is not warranty supported and as such not recommended.

Q: 2. the "plate" on the bottom, does it fit arca-swiss or Manfrotto PL type mount?

A: NO it will Not

Q: 3. Can this slider be mounted to two 5/8 c-stands or light stands?

A: Get two of these to mount on the bottom of the slider. Then you can mount on C-Stand. Be sure to use enough sand bags.

Q: 4. Are these wheels inflatable with air? Please reply if so what is the max pressure?

A: These are not inflatable wheels.

Q: 5. What would you need to mount the ronin M in the upright position onto this?

A: You can hang the Ronin by attaching the CineMilled DJI Ronin M Quick Plate to the bottom of the crane's camera mounting plate.

Q: 6. Does the plate actually weigh 1 lb? That seems kind of high, didn't know if the weight was referring to the shipping weight ...thanks

A: Yea it does. If not exactly, it's close to it. It's a solid piece of metal. Still holding up for me no prob.

Q: 7. Should/could this be used to mount the second shooter unit to a slider that has the Quick release receiver on it?Thanks.

A: I do not have a second shooter or never used one, but I would assume you could. I have used this to attach several things to the Kessler receiver. I have the pocket jib, and I attached this to the bottom so it was easier and faster to use on a tripod. I would double check with Kessler but I would assume you would be able to.

Q: 8. does this crane need a specific kind of tripod?

A: The base of the Pocket Jib has a 3/8 -16 screw hole so it will mount to the base of any standard tripod leg. You will just want to make sure the tripod you use is rated to support the total payload.

Q: 9. How is the balance and usability when using this on a Cineslider with a larger camera rig, since the payload is then offset on the Cineslider?

A: There should be no issues when using this for balance. You will just need to make sure you have enough support under the slider.

Q: 10. What is the maximum weight limit doe this set of wheels?

A: These wheels have a weight capacity of 300 pounds.

[15 mm] I already own a small Kessler crane, and their Hercules head, connected with their superbly sturdy quick release system. I tried using a locally sourced (Australia) Manfrotto 20kg rated tripod to save money, but it was a false saving. One leg clamp slid down while I had a crane, weights, camera, monitor and pan/tilt head attached! Adjusting with an Alan key fixed it, but made me nervous about future wear and slippage. An urgent order through to B&H and the super solid K-Pod arrived. It is heavy - for a reason. Sturdily built with indented stops for the legs prevent any chance of slippage. After all, it is built to carry a person on a seat with their K-Flex add-on dolly system. Only one slight quibble. The soft bag doesn't fully close near to the tripod leg knobs. Perhaps this will change after the bag has been used for a while and gets more flexible.

[15 mm] Long after humans have disappeared from the earth, this tripod will still be supporting my crane. Seriously strong, well built.

[1.3 lb] We purchased this plate to go with our Kessler short slider. We also purchased a medium length quick plate for our camera and the received unit for our tripod. Honestly, I don't know why tripod manufacturers don't copy Kessler. This is the BEST way to go! So called "quick release plates" that slide on and off tripods are fine but this is MUCH BETTER!!! You just put your camera on it and gently push down...click, and it's on the tripod safely. Slide it back and forth to get the perfect balance, flip the lever to lock and you're ready to go. To remove, release the locking lever, push a button and lift your camera off. Easy. Got a slider? Same thing to lock it on to your tripod. We will never go back to the old way. I highly recommend this and all the items related to this system.

[4 x Thumbscrews] great quality and very sturdy. I do not have to worry about gear coming loose. Easy to install and operate. I use it to attach a Kessler pocket jib traveler to my benro sticks and never have had a problem. I just picked up a slider plate for it and it works great.

[1.3 lb] Awesome one stop solution to quickly switching my slider onto different equipment using the Kessler kwik receiver

[1.3 lb] This is a solid, very strong block of precisely machined aluminum which fits ultra sturdy into the Kessler Kwik Receiver. Pro tip: suppose you mount the plate to the base of a tripod head, jib, or slider using a single 3/8-inch threaded connection through the center of the Kessler plate. With sufficient torque, the head/jib/slider could potentially spin or unscrew/loosen (this concern applies to any manufacturer, not just Kessler). To help prevent this, get yourself a couple of short 1/4-inch set screws (a.k.a. grub screws) and thread them into the 1/4-inch holes in the Kessler plate (from the bottom) until they secure against the base of your head/jib/slider. Now you've created a clamping force that makes it much harder for the head/jib/slider to spin on the plate.

[4 x Thumbscrews] I bought this plate to provide a solid connection with my Rhino EVO slider. 3 bolts are provided with the plate to attach to the slider base, one large bolt and two smaller bolts. The bolt pattern looked the same in the photos so I expected to get all 3 bolts in and provide a no-twist, solid connection that won't need tightening as a more solid option than a simple dovetail plate. However, only the center bolt lined up while none of the other holes did. I imagine the bolt pattern is the same for the Kessler pocket dolly and that's what it's made for. The center bolt does tighten up pretty well and the solid, smooth surface mates perfectly so hopefully there will be no issues. The plate is a tad heavy and it does add notable weight to the slider. I use the plate to attach to my Really Right Stuff lever release clamp directly on my leveling base and I have to admit the plate attaches perfectly and there absolutely no wobble or give.

[15 mm] I bought this tripod and the Kessler 100mm Ball Kit to support our Gluidecam Camcrane 200, after considering a number of alternatives. This set up is solid, and handles the weight and the inertia of the crane. Very Satisfied.

[4 x Thumbscrews] Made right. Stout enough for whatever I want to mount to it, crane/jib, slider, camera head. The only thing I would improve is a way to lock the legs in closed position for transport, instead of the included strap. reasonable price.
