Designed for capturing thoughts, memos, and note-taking sessions, the Philips Voice Tracer 1150 Digital Recorderby Philips Voice Tracer 1150 Digital Recorderis a digital recording device offering an on-board microphone, time-stamping, folders, and a built-in speaker.

Should you wish to listen through headphones, a built-in 3.5mm jack is available. The unit itself holds up to 4GB. Additionally, the Voice Tracer's sample rate can be tweaked to your specific needs, for higher quality or greater capacity. You can record audio from the on-board microphone or via the microphone jack.

Two included AAA batteries power the device for up to 44 hours of recording. You can transfer your files to a Mac or Windows computer via USB 2.0.

[2x Alkaline AAA] This little recorder is a great pocket-sized recorder for voice or shortwave radio recording. I especially like that it uses a cable to attach to the PC instead of an integral USB plug. While it doesn't support compressed audio, the files are relatively small due to being monaural and at a low bit-rate. The recorder also has a pretty substantial memory capacity, and it is low power and runs for a very long time on alkaline or NiMH AAA cells. 5

[Calendar Search] A handy size, though it can get lost under a pile of small items. Sensitive microphone, so useful when there is distance from the person speaking. The only downside to this is it also picks up the sound of your handling it if you are shifting it in your hand, or if in your pocket, it will pick up that rustling sound. i found it very easy to use without even looking at the instructions. Though it does lack an external microphone plug, which would make it even more versatile, it is perfect for recording your own thoughts for later transcription etc. 5

[Calendar Search] I I have been using Sony voice recorder for over 12 years I cannot imagine living without it I tell everyone that they should have one the built-in USB drive makes it even better 5

[Digital] Great for nearly any run and gun application. I film weddings, and will quickly slip one into a groom's pocket before a first look, or put them on lecterns to capture readings during ceremonies, and--my personal favorite and reason for purchasing them--tape them to wireless mics to ensure I have a good recording of toasts and speeches regardless of the connection quality of the mic. 5

[1 W] Use the recorder to record and transcribe Board of director meetings. Excellent sound reproduction, no external noise and picks up low volume sounds. Would recommend and/or purchase again. 5
