[Cardioid] The product is good, what I expect, new cartridges that breathe new life into my old Brother machine. But this review is rally about B&H, which is a wonderful company. It's the only place that consistently has better pricing and faster shipping then Amazon.

[None] Purchased because of multidirectional array. Professors and classmates on zoom meetings immediately noticed and complimented the difference in audio quality. Clients loved it too. This a MILC & video capture card used as webcam gave me the best first impression in an interview since shelter-in-place

[Cardioid] Had printing issues resulting from old drum that was failing to print correctly due to being finally worn out (over 7 years old). As soon as I replaced the drum with OEM drum, printing issues were immediately fixed. Prints like new!

[Cardioid] This kit is perfect, and for an excellent price. The mics sound fantastic and offer some flexibility not found in the usual suspects when it comes to drum mics. For example, the kick mic having two phase aligned capsules and being able to record each simultaneously and then mix them to taste. is wonderful in practice It also offers a few different sound flavor settings depending on how you are using it. The overheads are small and light, and also offer a couple of options. I've used an SM57 on snare for decades so I'm very familiar with it, but I really like the similar sound of the snare mic. The build quality is extremely good, and it comes in an awesome heavy duty case to keep everything tidy and safe and sound when not in use. I really couldn't be much happier with this kit in relation to my old setup ((C314s, Beta 52, SM57, e604s) and the only thing I can think of that I don't like is that the clip holders for toms/snare are a bit tough to get on relative to the e604 holders. I highly recommended the Lewitt Beatkit Pro.

[Cardioid] I was torn between this AKG Lyra and the Blue Yeti X - after reading a bunch of reviews, they both seemed like great options with roughly comparable features - multiple pickup patterns, on-mic mute buttons, volume & gain dials, etc. The sound samples I heard from the Lyra sounded a little bit more transparent to me than the Yeti X, but I wasn't able to do my own test of this, and I can't say the difference I heard was necessarily enough on its own to guide the decision between these two great mics. I did like the advantage on the Blue Yeti X of the visible level indicator, but in the end, I liked the look of the Lyra better enough to push it over the top for me.


I noticed that AKG didn't offer a shockmount for the Lyra, and B+H didn't list any shockmounts in the recommended accessories, so I wondered if the Lyra's mount might actually have a little bit of shock absorption built in. (If it *did*, maybe I could save a little money and not buy a shockmount? I was planning on putting it on a boom arm anyway, and didn't plan on using the table mount.) But alas, that was an unrealistic dream.
The Lyra's table stand is, of course, just like any other mic's table stand - it transfers plenty of noise from the hum of my desktop computer, typing on my keyboard, and all those kinds of things. But the Lyra's U-shaped tilting mount doesn't in fact absorb any handling noise, so putting it on a boom arm didn't dampen any of that either.
Fortunately, the BLUE RADIUS III shockmount fits the AKG Lyra perfectly and works great, so I'd strongly recommend getting one of those if you're thinking about getting the Lyra. It's a lovely, great sounding mic, so I do highly recommend it (with the shockmount). I'd also recommend that AKG get their act together and make a shockmount of their own for the Lyra!

[None] This drum cover works great. I was able to cover my drums, cymbals and all the percussion stuff I have clustered around the drum set. The lightly weighted corners let it just fall into place.

[Cardioid] I bought this to simplify my setup for audio and video recording and Zoom sessions. It has all the fine qualities of a studio condenser mic with respect to sensitivity and sound quality. It's easily detached from its base and mounts on a standard mic stand. With a USB-C to USB-C cable, it plugs directly into a USB-C port on my MacBook Pro and works with all applications. Its onboard gain control provides great flexibility, not to mention its 4 alternative coverage patterns.

[None] Because of covid social distancing, my wife and I have been having weekly Zoom meetings with our daughters and granddaughter. Unfortunately, the built-in mic on my laptop didn't want to play nicely and made it difficult for the old folks to be heard. Wasn't what you expected right? Yes, they couldn't hear us!
Long story, short, I exhausted all the recommended fixes and decided to try another mic. I've been a long time customer of B&H and coincidentally they sent me a Mic Review via their website. Timing is everything, right?
The mic arrived in two days via their free expedited shipping and it was truely plug and play! Windows 10 saw it, installed drivers and we were off to Zoom Land.
The kids can hear us, we can hear them and the old folks are back!
Seriously, I bought this mic mainly to be able to chat with them, but I also do video photography and editing. This mic fits both of my needs. Recorded voice overs are crystal clear due to the numerous options for adjustments to the mic's input.
I highly recommend this mic and feel that its sound quality is excellent considering the low price.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
